Being Sick Sucks

I'd had a sore throat and really swollen lymph nodes for like two weeks, but I figured that I was just fighting off a cold. Then after two serious nights of drinking (the later or which involved a whole lot of making out with a complete stranger) I woke up pretty sick on Sunday morning. Achy, fevery, sore throat, the works so I tried to just take it easy...but it was too late and I woke up deathly ill on Monday morning. I thought I had the flu so I decided to stay in bed and rest. By Wednesday things had only gotten worse my fever was higher, I couldn't get out of bed and was having trouble drinking water...it was time to see the doctor.

Turns out, the sore throat that I'd had for a few weeks had been caused by Strepp and because I hadn't rested or treated it, it'd developed into acute tonsillitis. Yuck. I missed a whole week of work.

Owey.

My fever was so high that my lips got all split and swollen. It looked like somebody punched me in the mouth. Note the two little medicine cups on my dresser in the background. Thank god for the Quils (Day and Ny, baby).

Here's one of the pics I sent into my co-workers on Friday when I was finally well enough to get out of bed. They told me that they missed me, but I just think they wanted funny pictures of me.

I had to talk to the doctor out of sending me to the hospital and he got back at me by prescribing these clown-sized, joke antibiodics (875MG tablets of amoxycillin). Look at these things, they're only slightly smaller than the first joint of my pinky. I saw them and was like "Doc, you know I'm having difficultly swallowing, right? Jesus."
