Did you know that the Twin Towers were fireproofed exclusively with asbestos? Did you know that in May 2001 a judge denied insurance claims to cover the cost of removing the asbestos and safely disposing of...which meant the cost of removing asbestos vastly exceeded the value of the buildings?

We didn't know what the fuck was going on. The WTC is like 15 blocks from where I work and I just kept thinking about how it was going to be weird to see the WTC buildings everyday with big holes in them.

We stood on the roof gawking and trying to make sense of what was happened. A few minutes later, the 2nd tower collapsed. I don't think I could speak for several minutes.

Then, the first tower collapsed. I couldn't catch my breath. We didn't know what had happened. None of us thought at the time that the plane crash could've caused the building to collapse. We assumed that whoever crashed the plane must've also planted a bomb...which really scared the shit out of us. I remember thinking "Wow. They crashed a plane to get everyone's attention, and then they blew the building up."
