They explained that in the next series of improv, an audience member could choose to kill any member on stage by pulling the popper when that person is speaking. They'd have to improv around all the sudden deaths. Haha. One minute you're pretending to drive a car, and then...
It was one of the more fun things I've done in a long, long time. If you've ever thought about signing up for improv classes, I highly recommend you give it a shot!
Back in May, Matt Rubano and I signed up to take the Improv 101 class at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater! Eight weeks of classes later, I found myself backstage in the UCB's green room about to perform my first "show" with the rest of my class. (Matt couldn't make it because two weeks prior to the show, his band got an offer to play the Live Earth show at Giant's Stadium with The Police and Bon Jovi! I wasn't happy, but I had to admit that as far as excuses for canceling out on your buddies go, his was pretty good).
Our teacher split our class into two "groups." We decided to call our group "The THORgasm Theorem." Clockwise from the left: Andrew, Jim, Thor, Hadley, Lauren, me and Tina!
