The Mermaid Parade

Sometimes people's jobs require that they attend certain events or conferences outside of the 9-5 office day. Usually these events, conferences or meetings are a drag. However, when you work for a sex-magazine, they usually prove to be pretty interesting.

Case in point: The Mermaid Parade at Coney Island. Basically every year people get dresssed up in some sort of sea-related costume, get really drunk and parade around Coney in bitching classic cars and the girls all show their boobies. Nerve entered into the parade and came up with a "Grease" theme. The four guys were T-Bird greasers and we had with us a bevy of Mermaid "Pink Ladies."

The parade was fun but poorly organized. We spent 4+ hours on hot, black macadam, dressed in dark blue jeans, waiting for our turn to perform our routine for the judges. By the time we got to perform, we were a sorry bunch. After the parade was over, we all headed back to my place for the Indoorvillage Prom.
