Lots of paintings I liked by painters I'd never seen! ...but when you looked closely, all of the white circuits were FILLED WITH LIVING ANTS. (Anicka Yi, Life is Cheap They also had a really wild contempory installation. It was an entire room filled with these giant, intricate circuit-board looking patterns... Here are some things... On Friday afternoon I met up with Gurj, Sarah and Jared uptown to celebrate Gurj's BIRTHDAY! After a fancy lunch... ...we hit the Guggenheim to see some art. On my walk home from work, I stopped off at the Rubin Museum again to check out a new exhibit. They had a cool soundproof booth where you could record audio for a collaborative art project they had set up! Here are some of the portrayals of Naraka, the hell realm . And this huge, detailed Bhavacakra. They also had some really great art pieces on display including this cabinet adorned with Mahakala. ...that goes into creating each thanka ...the step by step process... Very cool to see...
