a thing in 46 photos snowboard Thanks again so much for having me out! ...before suiting up one last time! The view doesn't get old. On the other side, we met up with Leslie! (I still dream about this.) A little after 4pm, we took off our boards and nestled into a snowbank... ...so that Grant could call into a radio show to chat about an opinion piece of his that had recently been published about Canadians and the Queen of England! . Hard at work on a Monday! Hoverboard! GREAT WHITE BOUNDARY. Thanks for having me, bud! Not a bad little Monday. ...then this. At the peak, we made plans to meet up with Matt a little later. Grant did some hand walking... Around 1pm, we met up with Aki and some friends that were out on the mountain and got lunch Time to get back on... <3 Snowboarding down a steep incline with a foot of powder is like a barely-controlled fall through the clouds. So steep! Here's a picture of Grant getting ready to drop in from up above. Still more mountain to go! The mountain is so big and white that it can be really disorientating at times! The mountain is so steep that when you're facing uphill you only have to bend your knees slightly to be kneeling on the mountain! Awesome. Walking across, then up and over. Ready? Later that afternoon it was snowing near the top of the mountain again. Grant leading the way through. Riding through the trees in deep snow is sort of awesomely terrifying. You have to try to keep your speed up so you don't sink and get stuck, but you also don't want to go too fast, because, duh, trees. ...and there was another foot or so of fresh snow! Grant snapped me coming out of the trees. The snow was so deep and drifty. If didn't keep your speed up, or dipped your nose at all... ...you'd end up instantly stuck knee-deep. (When this happens, it usually means 10 minutes of digging yourself out and hopping over to a place where there's enough of an incline to get moving again!). Three-snowboard wind-shield! Stationary tricks! Later that afternoon, we met up with Matt! Monday afternoon and the place was practically deserted! Grant! About to ride over the edge of the world! I love this photo. Grant and me! After eating, I stopped off to rent gear... See you later, first snowboard and first skateboard I ever owned!
