Grant leading the way through.
trees
Riding through the trees in deep snow is sort of awesomely terrifying. You have to try to keep your speed up so you don't sink and get stuck, but you also don't want to go too fast, because, duh, trees.
trees
It snowed overnight and the trees were dusted in white.
trees
I love the way the snow clings to every branch.

After spending a month between the Dubai desert and the tropics of Thailand, coniferous trees looked strange. It's always surprising how little time away it takes to make the familiar seem foreign.
trees
On the walk back to our scooter, we took a slightly different path and walked along the beach. It was really pretty.
trees
We left Chaweng and drove about 40 minutes to Lamai Beach to see Hin Ta and Hin Yai (Grandpa & Grandma). They are two natural rock formations that are supposed to look like male and female genitalia, respectively!

trees
But somewhere along the way we missed the turn that loops you back and accidentally ended up doing the much, much longer 7 mile version. About 90 minutes into our hike I was like, ""Uh, shouldn't this trail be heading back towards the car by now?" Doh.
trees
We looked at the trail map and decided to do one of the hikes through the forest that was a 3 mile loop.
