I was supposed to stay another 2 days, but the with the forecast calling for two days of heavy rain, I decided to pack it in early and head back to NYC.
Tuesday, June 18th was also the day investigative war-reporter Michael Hastings was killed in a very suspect single-car crash. RIP Michael Hastings. (If you don't know his story, he's definitely worth reading-up on).
We woke up on Thursday morning to torrential rain. If you haven't ever been to Asia during the rainy season, there's really no way to describe just how hard it rains. If you were to step out in the rain and stand there for 2 or 3 seconds, you would be completely soaked and your shoes would even have some water in them!
We arrived at Koh Phi Phi Don Port a little past 5pm and it was still pouring. Not wanting to have to try to make a mad dash through the crowds with our big backpacks, we hung out on the boat for a few minutes to see if the rain would let up.
On the way to Brett's graduation ceremony the next morning, Amy (Brett's girlfriend) pointed out Bloomington, Indiana's most famous landmark: The Subway where that Jared guy ate at everyday and lost 245lbs!
