mountain
One more pic of the pretty mountains before heading back to NYCAdmired the mountains on my drive out.About halfway point.Trail loops was a little over 3 hours.Had an excellent afternoon of solo hiking.I love hiking a new spot with no idea what you're going to see. After a bumpy, crawl of a ten-minute drive, we turned a corner...It was really fun / scary to be driving a pickup truck through the forest! We turned off the main road and onto a private mountain road!Snow in the desert! After we came back down, I said farewell to my family...On Sunday afternoon I flew out to New Mexico to attend......up to the mountain top!Later that evening, we drove out to the mountains around Albequerque to take... View outside my window in the morning!Had a balcony beer back at the apartment...I sneaked out of the tent and set out up the mountainside to explore the area around our campsite....was only temporary!...and were stopped dead in our tracks by the view!...walk out onto this log without falling in....and the imposing glacier-face in the distance. We stopped for a snack and a rest and to enjoy the cerulean-blue water......walked through the garage out back to the fields with an incredible view of the mountains...I lived in Eagleton, Colorado right near the Red Rocks amphitheater from ages 1-3. On the drive over, I called my parents to get the exact address......Chautauqua Park. (It's not as nice as Tompkins Park, but it was alright)....and were not disappointed with the view. We made it to the top...Yay, road trip! Thanks for inviting me along! ;)
