a thing in 278 photos clouds Wispy clouds on Monday. Wednesday evening in Tompkins... Before the sun set, I drove into town... All of the air traffic creating... Lots of wispy clouds over the East Village on Tuesday. Headed out in the hood... ...white, opaque clouds in the the course of just a few minutes. East River Park. Noticed more of those wispy cirrus clouds that very quickly turn into... Less than ten minutes later and the sky had turned a flat hazy white as they diffused. Clear sunny day with blue skies. Three planes flew back and forth and left lots of contrails. Walked over to the West Village... Hey! Car butts! Walked cross town to visit... After a trip to the vet... ...and headed to the airport. ...and watched the blue skies turn... ...turn hazy-white in a matter of a few minutes. Rainbow around the sun. Gridlines! Hit the road around 9:30am an after an hour of driving, made it to nicer weather. Probably just water vapor, though. Very strange. It's not like our government wouldn't tell what's happening! Love me some dramatic sun rays. Oh yeah, that's the stuff. Lots of hub-bub in the hood bright and early on Monday morning! Oh, sun sets over here and everything? Swirly clouds... More weird wispy clouds on Thursday! ...that later turns into dense cloud-coverage in less than an hour (Solar Radiation Management ) ...into a hazy fuzziness... 12:50pm ...but on some days the trails the planes leave seem to quickly expand.... Obviously NYC has a lot of air traffic... Strange, wispy hazy spiderwebby clouds over NYC all day on Sunday. ...and then took me to the airport to head back home! Great to see you, everyone! I walked home under these weird powdery clouds... Clouds and... Jellyfish clouds. ...and watched ominous rain clouds roll in! Sunset and clouds over the Hudson while waiting for the train. Lots of cool wave-patterns in the clouds again. Iridescent rainbow around the sun. (A non-ROYGBIV rainbow is a pretty good indication that a cloud is made of something besides H2O) Took the hound for a long walk and enjoyed the skies. Despite the snow on the ground... After getting settled in, I drove up to Berkeley... Woke up at 6am to fly out to San Francisco and after landing... 3:23:18 pm. From blue skies to sun-dampening milky-haze in less than 3 minutes! 3:20:58 pm 3:20:24 pm I don't know much about the weather, but it's cool to notice the tipping point (in humidity? temperature?) where the sky will turn from almost clear blue to hazy white in just a few minutes. Cool to see how the cloud coverage is a dome that ends right above the horizon. ...there were cool breaks in the cloud from thermal up-drafts. Down by the East River... Wednesday was fifteen-degrees with flat-white skies. ...over the East River when I took Maddy... ...for her afternoon walk on Sunday. Crazy, cool clouds... I spent Thursday afternoon trying to walk off the soreness from going running on Wednesday. ...leave trails across the sky. Watched the planes leaving La Guardia... More gravity wave clouds over MSG. ...over the midtown sky. Crazy, cool atmospheric gravity waves manifesting in clouds. On Saturday afternoon, I went back up to the convention center for a full day of meditation and lectures. While walking around on the lunch break, I snapped a bunch of pics of the crazy clouds... A flight of doves aflight.. Sunny Monday. Watched a colorful sunset! ...over to the East River and back. ..by the setting sun. Cool, straight-edged shadows cast on the clouds...
