By Tuesday Maddy had graduated from the cone and wanted to resume her long morning walk. Turning around under the Brooklyn Bridge. ...and after about 45 minutes of jetskiing, we got to do a close-up drive-by of the Statue of Liberty! So neat that you can just be floating around just offshore. East River park with the hound! Took the hound for a long walk and enjoyed the skies. ...that there were frozen bits of the river! All of the usually-crowded athletic fields were empty of teams practicing except... Took Maddy for a long walk over to the East River despite it being so cold... While walking Maddy near the East River on Wednesday, the river was covered with a drifting mist of dust... ...making cement and loading it onto boats to bring over to Manhattan skyscraper construction sites! ...from the concrete plant across the river... We were in total awe of the slowly-deepening colors... I always enjoy looking at the pictures I take and trying to see what I was seeing. We walked to the East River to be around nature... ...over to the East River and back. ...dropped her off with Leigh and Randy... Lovely spring Saturday. Took Maddy for a mega-walk over to East River Park to enjoy the nice weather. ...went for a long walk through East River Park... ... and soaked up the cold, clear air and winter sun. Love watching the tug boats pull... By 10pm almost all of the car headlights had died out and the street was getting dark. Long camera exposure. ...I went back upstairs to watch the surreal show from my window. ...and take the ferry over to check out Governor's Island. Passing by a huge construction site on the water's edge. The bridges are lovely at night. ...then met up with this guy to catch the... ...free ferry that runs from southern Manhattan... A little after 3pm, a bunch of dark clouds rolled in, the temperature dropped significantly and we had to high-tail it back to not get caught in a torrential rainstorm! Totally crazy. ...doing all sorts of high-speed maneuvers around and underneath the bridges in the East River. We spend the next half an hour... Coming up on the Brooklyn Bridge! ...that you're coming up out of the water! ...up the FDR... One last photo of the great view of the East River and Brooklyn from our 11th story window. Our apartment in Stuytown has an amazing view of the East River just north of 14th Street - which is where they park the huge Macy's fireworks barge! A little after 7:30, the barges were pulled into place by tugboats!
