I lived about 10 miles outside of this town when I attended Keystone College for my first two years of school before I transferred to Syracuse. Seeing this bridge brings me back to 94-96 in a big way. ...and up at the bridge. While walking Maddy near the East River on Wednesday, the river was covered with a drifting mist of dust... ...making cement and loading it onto boats to bring over to Manhattan skyscraper construction sites! ...from the concrete plant across the river... Bulls Bridge I can see my house from here. Mmmmm...baby smell. Before taking me to the airport, Grant drove into Richmond, BC to check out a tiny fishing community called Finn Slough . Don't look down! ...where it flattened out a bit for another bridge, this one marked by a chainsaw-carved bear. ...until we came to the bridge. ...and started the long drive home. Hazy-white summer afternoon. East Bay Ave Bridge... ...and a photo of this wooden bridge! By the way, for those interested in my travel budget, the cost of both my Tikal trip and my amazing ATM cave experience came to less than $250 USD combined! ...and the guy even let me hand-crank the bridge across! ...cable to be HAND-CRANKED across the river by this guy! Awesome, right? After the bridge arrived, he drove on... The road we were on lead right up to the edge of the river. We had to wait for the floating bridge... Down to the Manhattan Bridge and back. ...and take the ferry over to check out Governor's Island. ...over to East River Park. Mom & Dad on the bridge. Awww. Cab ride home with Amanda. We got to pass a lot really neat stone bridges. Lehigh Valley. The bridges are lovely at night. ...all the way down East River Park. ...all the way to... ...we'd started our 4-hour bus ride up to the very northern tip of the island. Sun rays on the ride home. A little after 3pm, a bunch of dark clouds rolled in, the temperature dropped significantly and we had to high-tail it back to not get caught in a torrential rainstorm! Totally crazy. ...doing all sorts of high-speed maneuvers around and underneath the bridges in the East River. We spend the next half an hour... Coming up on the Brooklyn Bridge! It's one thing to drive over it... Before we knew it, we'd made it to the Verrazano Bridge! Once we were out of the No Wake Zone, we were free to open them up full-throttle! Cross Bay Bridge onto the Rockaway Peninsula. And we're off! Sunset. ...head on home. Did you know if you zoom in really close... ...so colorful! Tangerine... A litte after 4pm, we crossed the Golden Gate bridge... Perfect day for a roadtrip! It's time to go home! Happy Birthday, Andrew! Thanks for all the great fun! Congrats to the winning team! Later on Saturday afternoon, I went out to Dumbo to meet up for brunch. Fatty's Uncle Ira was in town visiting! ...and we went for a bike ride in East River Park. Made it to the Brooklyn Bridge before turning around. ...a wedding photo shoot. When we got to the Brooklyn side, we stumbled upon... Graffiti and laundry. Almost there. I love this view. Long walk up. ...the Manhattan Bridge. Down to Bowery and over... Auto timer! Whistler looks totally different in the summer! A little before seven... We'd been biking for another hour or so... Just pedaling and snapping away... Lion's Gate Bridge. Amazing every time. I love this picture so much! After we were finished running around the empty building steps like monkeys, we headed over to the bridge... ...the sun is setting over the city. ...is really pretty... Driving over the Williamsburg Bridge...
