By the time we'd gotten back to Helsinki, twenty minutes later, it had finally gotten dark. Newlyweds! <3 Perfect timing for the ferry ride back to Helsinki. Making everyone get all misty. Doug adn Anni thanked everyone for coming! ...was filled with salty Finnish licorice...and a Hersey's kiss to help you get rid of the taste of the salty Finnish licorice. Lol. (Also Doug, don't you DARE write me a poem. How dare you?) Table gift... Anni getting ready to throw the bouquet. Then everyone else got in on the action. First dance! ...and then some of their friends played music. Getting ready to cut the cake! That's one sexy-ass cheesecake! After we went outside to take some wedding photos. Lol. This bastard. All growsed up. Doug's father got to attend via video conference and they had him up on the big screen for all of the toasts! Congrats Mr & Mrs Toth! <3 The reception was held in an area of the building that all of these cool arches. Photo board! The wedding reception line getting ready to receive the new bridge and groom! CONGRATULATIONS, DOUG & ANNI! <3 Doug's dad couldn't travel to Finland so he attended via video conference! Exchanging rings! Ready to get married? HERE WE GO! The ceremony was lovely. Their rings were next to portraits of founder Chögyam Trungpa and his son, Sakyong Mipham. Their wedding was themed around Shambhala Buddhist center, which Doug has been very involved with over the years. ...I took the ferry over to help set up for the wedding. Three drunk Battjers. Which meant that very quickly no one was able to stand in a straight line in the dance floor anymore. Haha. Amy & Kristi Found my place at the table o' cousins! I'd never partied in the Southwest and was pleasantly surprised to see the dancing kick off with some LINE DANCING! Mom & Dad OPA! Cake cutting! Kristi giving her Maid of Honor speech. Then it was time for the reception! Later that evening, we got dressed up and headed to the wedding! Congrats! I now pronounce you wife and wife! Maid of Honor Kristi! Ellen and Hans were in the middle... ...getting smashed with everyone's love! ...and bigger! With each passing line... I feel like... ...it turned into a karaoke dance party! Once we realized there was a microphone on the scene... They even brought the lights back down for our dancing pleasure. Dance floor encore! Guests were directed towards party bags. Mosh pit Sarah! With each song, the staff subtly increased the lighting. It was getting close to 11 and everyone was still raging. ...and hit the dance floor again. ...get a load of this guy! ...and all the pictures came out great! Everyone loved it... ...but it turned out to be the hit of the party! She was worried that it was going to be hokey... Ellen danced with her father...
