a thing in 413 photos crowd Happy birthday! On Thursday afternoon, I headed uptown to Summer Stage... After we ate, we headed downtown for karaoke at Baby Grand! The beach was crowded on a weekend and we had to wait in line a bit... It was, by far, the most well-attended book release party I've ever been to! So cool to see that crowd that turned up! And then we all got into the living room to... Friday afternoon I went to Penn Station to take the train to DC. Yes! (Take the time to check out some of the crowd reactions. Worth it!) When the confetti went off... Cool to see cell phones have replaced lighters at concerts. This is old news now, but a few years back this was the first time I'd seen them turn off all the lights in the arean and only have it lit by the light from peoples' phones. This guy caught a drumstick that Travis Barker threw and was STOKED. Awesome to get to see the band play for such a big crowd. ...to a huge party space where Jared was DJing as an opener to... After he walked by and greeted every single person, we all filed in to the empowerment. ...to hang out and see... Puffed my lil weed pen and listened along from our balcony of privilege... Got back to the hotel to find Courtney Barnett fans going for it Ate out on the balcony and watched people mill around checking out bands. ...for one of the last Sunday Smiths Nights. (I used to go this all the time 10 years ago!) After I got home from class there was a street festival going on below. ...to go out dancing at HOLY MOUNTAIN! Dance floor was packed. Bro, do you even rave? It had been a while since we had a long night of dancin at the kleeeerb. It had a been a long time since either of us had been to any kind of night life thing. Casual West Village on a Friday. ...Citifield (for the first time in my life)... On Wednesday night I headed over to MSG to see... After the meeting, there was a party with food, drinks and... On Monday afternoon, I got to present at SinglePlatform's company offsite. With the party still going strong, we left around 11... Ellen and Hans were in the middle... ...getting smashed with everyone's love! ...and bigger! ...everyone walked back up the hill to the lighthouse... On Friday evening there was a big gathering of people protesting the park's decision to cut down the "Bendy Tree." Later Sunday night, I met up with John at Webster Hall to see... I love how all shows go from this... Always so awesome to see people you know entertain a big crowd. ...The Gramercy Theater to see Jared play a show... Haha. These were our original seats, but right when we got there, Gurj got a text from work people who told us to come meet them at their... ...even better seats! ...this time we headed over to Cielo to go dancing at 1am... This is a crowd of people outside a hotel at 2am waiting to greet... On our walk through the park we stopped to listen to a marching band having a dance party in the middle of this crowd. They have concerts out behind their building every Tuesday in the summer and people come to watch the bands even when it rains. Tuesday, June 18th was also the day investigative war-reporter Michael Hastings was killed in a very suspect single-car crash . RIP Michael Hastings. (If you don't know his story, he's definitely worth reading-up on). Later Friday night, I took the MetroNorth train up to Norwalk, CT to attend a reunion party for people that used to work at... The conference room we were in overlooked the just-opened 9-11 Memorial. Still going strong at 3am last call. Place was packed! Big open venue. Watched from the audience again. (Check out Nick and Mike's sweet, light-up guitars!) I was exhausted after just 2 days of being on tour and I didn't even have a job to do! It was really impressive to watch the bands put on such high energy shows night after night. One minute there's a band playing and a crowd of screaming people... The show was awesome. 303 = Denver area code. ...the hometown crowd before taking the stage! Place starting to fill up! Marveled at the crowd some more. This was the scene outside! Ooof! I was just about to turn around and go home when Leigh spotted me and whisked me inside! The Battery Maritime Building ferry terminal is really cool, though. Very 19th century! Governor's Island was sort of a bust. Not much to do and a lot of waiting to catch the ferry back home. He ended up drawing a crowd. Haha. HELLO, CLEVELAND! The crowd was pretty indie. When the dance floor started getting serious... A few minutes before midnight, everyone came out onto the deck to welcome in 2012 with... Awesome. Thanks so much for all the work you put into making this happen, Ty! Everyone got together for a big group shot before we sat down to dinner. ...and went to an awesome house party that Hans knew about a few blocks from our place on Ave C. ...the Tribeca Grand. Fought our way to the back where we found some people we knew! It was pretty crowded! The crowd was kind of Petty ! For the finale, EVERYONE was on stage! On Thursday evening, Tyson invited Mer and I to Bowery Ballroom to see Petty Fest! On Saturday Ellen and I walked over to Tompkins Square park and found a crowd of people... ...and then later that night went to some crazy house party at 3A! (I don't remember what this was for - anyone?) On Wednesday night I attended a start-up presentation someone invited me to. I wasn't really feeling up to it, but in the end, I sucked it up and went! Just givin er. ...feeling it. The crowd was... Great. ...Inner Party System. After their set I went back over to see... On Monday night I went to General Assembly to meet up with Louis and see him present about a new company he was working with at the time. On Wednesday night, we went to Fontana's for Carol's going away party... Later that night we went over to vBar for Carol's going away party! Such a fun crowd. Later that evening, Mer and I went to Joe's Pub... Serious crowd. The Shambhala program let out around 1pm on Sunday (Friday 7-9pm, Saturday 9am-6pm, Sunday 9am-1pm) and I stopped by the Ave A flea market on the walk home... Good times. Had a few shy drinks against the wall at the reception (We didn't know that many people!) ...and we took the train out to Nassau Coliseum... ...the release of Halo Reach.
