The October Roundup

Here are all the photos I took in October 2014 that didn't end up in their own entry

jeet, jenny penny, karen, me, quinn, the ktb

Spent Friday evening eating deli sammiches and...
...having a crush on the lady chefs on Mind of a Chef.

maddy
Finally got around to unpacking my suitcase and as soon as I unzipped it, Maddy hopped in order to prevent me from taking another trip without her. Haha.

Saturday, October 11th

Oldy but a goody.
Rasberries...
...maybe blueberries?

Sunday, October 12th

amanda

Went to La Plaza and jumped some rope.

ellen
Sunday night I walked over to Ellen and Han's in the West Village...
...and Hans fed us with such goodness.
Oh, did I mention he also made dessert?
After cutting us slices...
...Hans brought out freshly-made cappuccinos! This guy.
jane anne, maddy
I rallied for a late-night pizza party with Jane!

Monday, October 13th

After three months of working as working for them as a consultant, one of my clients made me an offer to join full time. I was pretty sure I wanted to refuse the offer and continue working for myself, but I wanted to throw the coins and consult the I Ching (like any normal person would do, right?) Hexagram 1 (The Creative) transforms to...
...Hexagram 61 (Inner Truth). Guess I'm not taking the job! Haha.

Tuesday, October 14th

Love these flowers made out of squares!
Leaves on this one grow in a spiral of six and the flowers are five.
Who lives here? Ten little brown bats?!

Friday, October 17th

jeet
Friday Vietnamese sandwich conference with the Bassmeister General! <3

Saturday, October 18th

Got my juice on so hard on Saturday.
Beets change everything.

Sunday, October 19th

Spent Sunday hunched over my couch...
...playing around with a ruler and compass.
Exploring how to make triskelions

Wednesday, October 22nd

dad, maddy
Got Maddy a new dog bed on Wednesday.
maddy
It's designed so that she can climb inside...
maddy
...but she prefers to hunch herself up alongside the opening!
I was biking home from work on the bike path and a 10 year kid ran right in from of me while I was going top speed. I braked as hard as I could and ended up flipping my bike and narrowly missing him.
He was super apologetic about it. Haha. By the evening, you could pretty much see the shape of my pedal on the inside of my thigh. Ouch!

Friday, October 24th

On Friday afternoon I got my first shipment of frozen wheatgrass juice. (I tried drinking it every day for a while. It was ok)
jane anne
Jane Anne likes to leave me selfies on my camera. Haha. ;)
On Friday evening I headed to midtown to catch the night bus down to...

Laughing along with all the peoples.
brett
Get him home before he falls asleep!
Big fan of this pipe-cleanery pine tree.
max
Max has this poster of Max from Where the Wild Things Are in his bedroom so Brett & Amy....
amy b, max
...decided that would make a good first Halloween / birthday costume!
max
How cute is this?
max
Tickle him immediately!
amy b, max
Practicing the walking.

Fall ivy.
I really like these empty fire call boxes that are still up in some DC neighborhoods.
brett, max
After seeing the last house, Brett and I took Max for a solo expedition to the bar.
I could eat cornbread and black beans errrday.

Monday, October 27th

Caught the 11am train...
...up to Baltimore...
...and had lunch with my college friend FAKIS that I hadn't seen since 1996! (I forgot to take photos when we were hanging out!)

Tuesday, October 28th

I arrived back home to find they'd decided to paint the interior of my building a delightful brown. What they missed in color...
...they made up with nice, clean sharp lines! That's what you pay those Manhattan rents for!
They also did a nice job improvising around the coatrack I have hung on the inside of my door. Haha.
Later that night I met up with Vin...
...for ramen...
...and then we went to a show. (No idea what band, though!)

Wednesday, October 29th

Trying to stick with my wheat grass juice made with frozen wheat grass ice cubes I got delivered. Oh, the internet.
Also got an excellent new hourglass as part of my Halloween costume!
Bought my first BTC with a mobile app. Fiat is dead. (Long live fiat)

Friday, October 31st

me
Hans & Ellen were having a house party for Halloween!
me
I started with my classic "skull face" make up....
grim reapers, me
...but went the extra mile this year and went full grim reaper. Including eight-inch platform boots (that made me 6'7"!) chain, hour glass hung around my neck and real scythe (not pictured).
Getting across the Halloween Parade to their West Village apt was MADNESS! But fun to do it while walking around so much taller than everyone in my Gene Simmons boots!
ellen, hans, piper, the dude
Ellen, Hans, Piper and their new Golden Retriever puppy, THE DUDE!
House party in full effect!
ellen, hans, the dude
The fluffiest puppy.
dylan, karen, matt, meredith
Matt had movie-style werewolf prosthesis glued to his face...
grant, leanne, matt
...and was almost unrecognizable! Haha. Grant's friend Leanne was visiting from Vancouver.
Quinn had recently left NYC for Asheville, NC and wasn't able to attend, so Ellen made sure to video conference her in...
jenny penny, josh adcock
For your sins.
ellen, jenny penny, karen, quinn
...and take her around the party so she could say hi to everyone. Awww.
jenny penny, josh adcock, karen
Sister Jenny does not approve!
josh adcock
I'd hit it.
dylan, meredith
Mer was there with her new boyfriend, Dylan. Classic Cowboy / Mouse combo!
Meredith fashioned her own pink rat shoes out of tape and ribbons!
With the party still going strong, we left around 11...
...to head downtown to meet up with Amanda at her friend Alan's party.
Did you know they put up the Ghostbusters sign in front of the NYFD station for Halloween? So great.
Turn Back Time Cher with Battleship Boyfriend was my fave costume at Alan's party!
jane anne, tina belcher
I met up with Jane who'd dressed up as Tina Belcher from Bob's Burgers!
jane anne, tina belcher
Erotic Friend Fiction by Tina Belcher! Hahah.
grim reapers, me
Happy October 2014! TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

It's refreshing to finally see new entries! As a long time reader, your massive archive never ceases to entertain tremendously.....It may be the best e "book" I have ever read!
