She always feels really guilty about "playing with them to death." I always have to tell her GOOD JOB! KILL THOSE MICE! And then she gets all proud and happy.
I was in the home office up late editing photos and I heard Maddy all kinds of strange honking noises. I figured she was throwing one of her toys around like she sometimes does. I came out fifteen minutes later to get some water and found her happily wagging her tail and chewing on an unfamiliar toy, which, upon further examination, turned out to be a mouse that had foolishly dared to run through a Maddy-patrolled hallway. She was so proud of her catch.
...but when I picked him up to bury him, he turned out to be alive! It's a miracle! Baby mouse survived a car-smooshing! We moved him over to the side of the path out of future harm's way, and hit the beach!
On the way to the beach, we came across the teeniest, tiniest baby mouse that had been squished into the sand and run over by a car! At first we thought he was dead...
At some point in the early morning, my roommate's cat walked into the living room with something in his mouth. Which closer investigation revealed to be this severed mouse head! UGH! Here's Scott laughing hysterically and posing with it.
