It's good to have an Edie!
Dinner...
...and a mewvie.

Tuesday, July 14th

Napping under my shorts.
Created a page on Soundcloud and posted my first two little song sketches in public. Eek!
Caught Edie big-ear couch-snoozing again; this time under a pillow pile!
me
Got some goggles to swim laps down the street. (Verdict = I am not very good at swimming laps!)
Stayed up late doing one of my favorite things...
...rolling around on my living room floor and listening to long, interesting lectures on Youtube!
Hit the MOTHERLOAD when I found Mark Passio: Natural Law Seminar...which clocks in at almost NINE HOURS! His presentation style and voice are pretty abrasive, but if you can bear it, tons of really fascinating info on the Babylonian Mystery Schools / Emerald Tables, Hermetic Principles.
Two flavors of gelato and I started TAKING NOTES. Haha.
His lecture is a really long explanation of the Hermetic Principles
The Plane of Causality is separate than the Plane of Effects.
(Cue sound of my mind exploding.)
Took soooo many pages of notes.
Youtube makes me miss college lectures.
What you care about matters.
A pen in my hand invariably leads to self-doodling.

IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!

This still makes me laugh every time I see it. Almost have the same beauty mark on their right cheeks! (Recurring theme?)
Met up with Gurj and Jared at Webster Hall to see Matt Gorin play a show.
Came home to find Jane Anne had gifted me a shark soap (Lush trip?) Haha.

Saturday, July 18th

Saturday was all about plant care and mixing essential oil scents for my apartment. (I guess this is what you get into when you outgrow weekend friend brunch?)
Watched Ex Machina (!!!)

Sunday, July 19th

And then read the programmer's manual. My kinda jam. Mass Control: Engineering Human Consciousness
Hound walk!
Spent the evening wrapping my mind around this book lent to me by John. Mark Lombardi Global Networks
"In drawings both small and monumental, Mark Lombardi creates visual narratives of the way money flows in our postimperial, transnational economy: from corporations to political organizations, from individuals to various ad hoc groups, most of them acting outside of and transcending national boundaries. "
Lots of interesting names passing money and weapons around

Saw this lil beauty on Monday.
Morning hangs with Edie.
Spotted this pumpkin growing in La Plaza! Cool to see how it comes in for a landing as it gets heavier.
Read this excellent book on anarchy: The Most Dangerous Superstition
pine pollen
I ordered some pine pollen to take as a food additive because I read it's good for men as they age. (Tastes funny, but I definitely noticed a difference very quickly).

On Thursday afternoon I went out to see Rachel at Massage Williamsburg. She liked the Flower of Life design I drew on my living room wall and wanted me to do one in her office lobby! Here's my setting up my homemade paint-marker compass!

About to mark up her freshly painted walls. Nervous!
First 4 of 19 circles!

My friend, Hunchy.
WHY DON'T WE CLOSE DEALS? Whiteboard I saw at a client's that made me laugh.
In the afternoon I opted to listen to this book about how to clean my apartment instead of cleaning my apartment. Prep-work is important!
Follows the sun.

The Bodybuilder sammich from Barnyard for lunch.

Got these excellent new barefoot shoes...
...from Vivobarefoot. It takes a while to learn how to walk in them, but I really like them.
Post-rain early evening view from my...
...lovely living room.
Decided to watch the highly recommended THEY LIVE on Thursday evening. When the protagonist finds a pair of special sunglasses (HOFFMAN LENSES!) he is able to see the underlying messages embedded into our reality...
...and the "people" behind the messages!
I also noticed this great hidden message on one of the train cars that rolls by in the opening credits.
DOUBT HUMANITY. NO IDEAS. CONSUME. WATCH TV.
This is the movie that all of Shepard Fairy's OBEY work comes out of.
When the movie ended, I looked online and learned that Roddy Piper, the film's star, had died while I was watching it. Strangely synchronistic.

Friday, July 31st

Gurj came over after work on Friday...
...and we walked over to the Grape & Grain....
