...cool idea - box of sod in a leak-proof box so your dog can pee on reusable grass all week instead of pee pads. Maddy showed some interest right out of the box, but after this one time, I couldn't get her to go near it, nevermind pee on it, again. Cool idea if I could've gotten it to work!
Jeff had previously made trips to the Rockaways to donate solar kits. After seeing how many people were still without power, he came up with a "Buy One Give One". It was a hit! Here we are loading up one of the many boxes of chargers donated.
...to meet up with Jeff Crystal, one of the founders of Voltaic Systems. Jeff had organized a way for people to donate Voltaic's solar chargers to folks volunteering with Operation Sandy and I met up with him to help hand them out in the Rockaways and take some photos. Some of them were holiday presents...but most of them were part of the emergency food supply that I'd ordered. (Back in the W years, this seemed like a good thing to have laying around. It also finally confirmed Meredith's suspicion that I'd graduated from "eccentric" onto "full-blown weirdo.")
My dad, supervising Scott and I as we loaded boxes into the truck reminded us to evenly distribute the weight or we'd force the "tongue" out of the trailer hitch actually said the following phrase to us verbatim: "Careful not to load her up too much in the rear or you'll force the tongue out." We both immediately screamed "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!" and fell down laughing. My dad was like "Wha?"
I found this awesome kit online that converts your regular ol' toilet into a bidet (because having a clean ass is awesome). Unfortunately, our toilet was too close to the wall and I was unable to install it. (So much for having a clean ass!)
On the walk home I saw this box and it made me LOL. Why is PILLOW in quotation marks? It seems so shady. No, sir I did not say this was a pillow sale. This is clearly a "pillow" sale! Now, good day!
On Wednesday evening, Meredith came home with TWO MORE rats! She'd left with plans to rescue a brown rat, but because the brown rats are so much rarer, the people that were hosting the rat-adoption event had a rule that if you wanted a brown one, you had to also take a white one! So, that's how we ended up with FOUR RATS!
On the walk home, we saw this raft and wanted to buy it just for the awesome packaging. At first glance, you think to yourself "Why is this guy partying so hard? It seems like he's just floating on a run-of-the-mill inflatable pool raft. Then, after a minute or two, you realize that the man isn't just floating on any inflatable pool toy! Oh, no! He's floating on FAIRYLAND ON THE WATER, and then his euphoric state suddenly makes total sense.
At the foot of the bed there was even a convenient body-sized box. (Just in case any sluts end up partying themselves to death in your room, you can use this box to temporarily hide their bodes until you're able to slip out of town on your tour bus!)
On Monday morning our new furniture that we'd purchased on Friday was delivered. Here's our living room filled with boxes. Fast forward a few hours later and...
Meredith didn't have a printer that worked, so I headed over to Tinny's apartment to hook up the Dell printer she'd gotten with her computer but had never set up.
...COLLEGE BOXES! Hahaha. In fact, NYC has such a surplus of college box that they actually pack it up and export it to less fortunate cities. Here's Fatty posing with a box full of fresh college box bound for less-warm clime.
Kids this age are hilarious. People go and buy them all sorts of toys but all they really want to do is don diaper boxes as cars and run around screaming as loud as they can.
