And his friends??? (Lukas' face in this pic! lol). I ended up getting a text from Grant and David who where nearby getting ice cream so I brought Lukas over for a man-hang.
HOW ARE YOU THIS HIGH 9 SECONDS LATER ALREADY? (I heard from David the next day that it took him almost 90 minutes to walk the "15 minute walk" back to his Nolita apt.
I don't remember if there was a special occasion or if this was just a spring friend hang, but check out the solid Saturday night crew that rolled up into our place!
Later that night we met up with David on the street and went to dinner! Meredith snapped this picture of us right after we all met up on the street. Love it so much.
Grant was in town visiting from he and Aki's new home in Whistler, BC (that's in Canada) so we all went over to Fatty's for a backyard BBQ! Here's David, Grant and the Fatty (who's clearly getting ready to do something inappropriate/gay with that ear of corn).
Take a good hard look, Ladies. Not only does he have a sexy beard and awesome motorcyle, he will also make you female-ejaculate like a goddamn fire hose!
Oh man, I love this picture SO MUCH. Every time I look at David's face I can actually hear the perverted little cackle he does when something naughty happens: "Heh...heh...heeeh."
Right around eleven, Mr. David K. (aka - "Sketchy Dave") showed up with some lil' teen strumpet who was up in town for a few days visiting him from somewhere down south.
...and then Meredith and I went out to meet up with Mr. David Kreitman for a few quiet drinks in the neighborhood. Afterwards, Mer ended up heading home and David and I...
On Friday, Mer and I met up with David and Miye for some dinner and then afterwards headed over to the Sunshine Landmark for the midnight showing of...
Having been out of town for a few weeks, first order of business upon my first full day back from the Europe Trip was to catch up with people I hadn't seen in a while. I went back over to Soho to visit David in his umbrella store (which he's since made way bigger and moved to a fancy neighborhood uptown. If you're looking for a nice gift for a dapper fella, go give his new store, Brellabar, a visit).
Meredith and I arrived at The Delancey a little early so we could have a few drinks and catch up with some peeps (Like David "Capt. Creepy" Kreitman, see here peeking into the picture to recreate one of his most creepy photo moments from my going away party last summer).
After bidding farewell to the Nerve folks (Michael Martin refused to let me photograph him) I had to pass David and Miye's new store on Elizabeth street. David pulls "Blue Steel" as I model one of their store's funny hats.
Grant and David demonstrate "The Eiffel Tower of Power High Five" with Miye as the lucky girl "in the middle." Check out the sweat stains - did I mention that by this point in the August night my apartment was about 110 degrees?
Ellen Stagg and Meredith (with David peeking out between them making the creepiest "scary pervy peeping guy" face I've ever seen). Wait, can I get a close up?
Despite only getting a few hours of sleep, we managed to pick up the van and be heading beachward before noon. Here's me, Meredith, Grant, Rachel and David and Miye in the back! Rented van, wooooooo!
Friday morning I stopped by David and Miye's for coffee (David's in the background demonstrating his "I'm down wit' black people" hand gestures. That's "Soooo money!" which is an expression David told me "the blacks" are keen on saying).
On Monday I went to Bowery Bar's karaoke with David and Miye but by the time we got there, the queue was retardedly long so we just had a drink and called it a night.
Saturday night I met up with David and Miye (my favoritest married couple) in Nolita and we headed out to Hoodside, Queens to check out Sripraphai, which a Thai friend of David's had told him was the "hands down the best authentic Thai food in NYC."
David's friend ended up being right on the money. The food was totally
out of this world (and reeeediculously cheap). If you live in NYC, hop
on the 7 train and make a special trip. It's worth it. Here's
a Google link to a bunch of reviews of the place (apparently, it's highly regarded
by lots of people).
