Thursday, March 4th

david k, meredith — On Thursday night we met up with David at Gruppo for some pizza to celebrate Mer's forthcoming birthday.

david k, meredith — After pizza, we went back to our apt. Here's David looking skeptical about Meredith's recent bodega purchase.

maddy — WHY NO PIZZA FOR ME?

Friday, March 5th

chuck, joann — On Friday night Meredith's parents took us to a really fancy restaurant (inside the MOMA?) to celebrate Mer's birthday!

fancy — Fancy appetizers like this always make me feel like I'm having dinner in a Tim Burton movie.

fancy — Goat cheese foam? Fancy!

fancy — Excuse me, sir. I don't believe that my salad is stacked tall enough. SEND IT BACK.

fancy — Chuck's fish was served on a fancy, fish-shaped plate!

fancy — The beet risotto I ordered arrived with actual GOLD shavings sprinkled on top.

me, meredith — Me and the lovely birthday girl!

Yes, but do they have GOOOOOLD on them?

In addition to the dessert menu, they also do a drive-by with this crazy cart that's brimming with delicacies.

Oh, and then they also brought out a special cake for Mer.

meredith — Wish! (Thanks for the amazing dinner, Chuck & Jo!)

Back at the apartment, I busted out my handmade card. Haha.

meredith — PS - Look in the oven...

meredith — ...because there's a giant Mrs Fields chocolate chip cookie inside!

Mer was kidding around about always wanting one of these her birthday so I decided to see if I could find a Mrs. Fields in NYC and surprise her. Turns out the only one is located inside the Port Authority! And yes, they will personalize them. Ta-da!

Saturday, March 6th

jeet, sarah — On Saturday night people came over to celebrate Mer's birthday...

jenny penny, josh adcock — ...and to help us eat the giant cookie-cake!

meredith — Yum.

After we'd finished with cookie-cake and presents, we headed uptown to the Hayden Planetarium to see a double-header!

The inside of the planetarium is awesome. Whoa.

Friday, March 12th

Work stuff.

josh adcock — On Friday night, Josh came over to our apartment to hang out before proposing to Jenny!

Saturday, March 13th

jenny penny, josh adcock — On Saturday afternoon, we walked down to the Lower East Side to meet up with Jenny and Josh and congratulate them on their engagement! Yay!

lauren w — I think Jenny's friend Lauren looks like Abigail Breslin (the girl from Little Miss Sunshine) now that she's all growed up.

Monday, March 15th

On Monday morning I was up early to fly to Charlotte, NC for work. There was a beautiful sky behind Brooklyn when I was crossing over the East River.

My rental car was brand spanking new. Check the odometer: 3.7 miles!

I don't get any of vanity plate references in the south. Something to do with Nascar probably?

Rocked out to this on satellite radio while driving down the empty southern highway.

Wednesday, March 17th

jeff g — Was down in NC to get feedback from the Charlotte office on a new piece of software called Ad Copy Library that we were beta testing. Jeff and I went to IHOP for lunch!

Mmmmmm.

greg i — Later that night I drove to the other side of Charlotte to see Kim, Greg and their son, Damien! Greg has a ping pong table in the basement and we played until 1:30am.

Damn Yankees on the drive home!

leigh — On Thursday night I hung with these two.

meredith, una — Una came over to hang on Friday night.

Saturday, March 20th

meredith — Saturday was a beautiful spring day so we walked around the neighborhood and found a brand new place on 4th Street to get brunch.

I got a pizza with eggs on it!

Walking through Stuytown later in the afternoon I came across a a dead baby squirrel (with a fly already on its mouth) that must've fallen out of the trees above.

Sad and beautiful.

matt, meredith — Later that afternoon, we went to the dog park and ran into Matt.

maddy — Can go now?

Meredith made strombolis for dinner! Yes!

Sunday, March 21st

maddy, meredith — Just a relaxing Sunday with my buds.

New clock that shows the weather.

Later that afternoon I geeked out and played a whole bunch of Mass Effect 2. It has really beautiful immersive environments that look right out of Blade Runner.

Faces in the game were done really well.

Friday, March 26th

We received two pieces of unsolicited mail today: Vegetarian Times and Everything for the Grill. TARGETING FAIL.

This book is awesome and haunting. It really stuck with me for a while after reading it. Highly recommend it.
