Florida from the air. On Tuesday morning, I headed down to Florida for a week and a half to see my dad in the hospital and spend time with the fam. Flying out over the same coastal town of Suðurnesjabær after a brief layover in Iceland. Finland is green and pretty. And we're headed back home! ...Florida-bound to visit my family. Flight home! Excited to not have to drive for a while! Sky tubin. Maybe it was the new vaporizer, but I saw a documentary about flying fish and just could not stop thinking about them and how crazy it is that they exist. Flying. The elevated vantage-point made it easy to see how the flowing water divides the land over time. ...and tiny islands in the water. So neat to see so much lush, uninhabited forest... Back in the air a little after 2pm, I looked out the window and noticed things were starting to look gorgeously turquoise and tropical. While waiting in line for security, we made friends with a woman who was in line with us who ended up sitting next to me on our flight! Yay, airplane strangers! ...homeward bound! TA-DA! Tube in the sky. Coming in over Rockaway Beach! Landing. By 10pm that night, I was headed home! Coming into NYC. Coming down over Dayton. Above the beautiful cloud-ground! Flying over Manhattan. We made it in the air just in time to watch the last of the sunlight break through the clouds and bathe NYC in peach light. Red eye! Wheels coming down over the Rockaways with the sun rising in the east. Bye, Bali! Denpasar. TOUCHDOWN IN BALI! (After almost thirty hours of travel! Oof). ...SEVENTEEN-HOUR FLIGHT? Fast-forward a few hours later and I'm up in the air flying over weird stuff. As we were nearing the Bay Area, there were all of these crazy-colored bodies of water. I'm hoping it's not pollution, but whatever was causing it, it sure was pretty! What in the world are those? About 30 seconds after this pic was taken, I conked the fuck out and slept the rest of the way to Texas. Sooooooo, exciting! Hark, Jamaica! I awoke to see that the water below had changed colors.
