On Friday, Mer and I met up with David and Miye for some dinner and then afterwards headed over to the Sunshine Landmark for the midnight showing of...
Grant and David demonstrate "The Eiffel Tower of Power High Five" with Miye as the lucky girl "in the middle." Check out the sweat stains - did I mention that by this point in the August night my apartment was about 110 degrees?
Despite only getting a few hours of sleep, we managed to pick up the van and be heading beachward before noon. Here's me, Meredith, Grant, Rachel and David and Miye in the back! Rented van, wooooooo!
Friday morning I stopped by David and Miye's for coffee (David's in the background demonstrating his "I'm down wit' black people" hand gestures. That's "Soooo money!" which is an expression David told me "the blacks" are keen on saying).
On Monday I went to Bowery Bar's karaoke with David and Miye but by the time we got there, the queue was retardedly long so we just had a drink and called it a night.
Saturday night I met up with David and Miye (my favoritest married couple) in Nolita and we headed out to Hoodside, Queens to check out Sripraphai, which a Thai friend of David's had told him was the "hands down the best authentic Thai food in NYC."
David's friend ended up being right on the money. The food was totally
out of this world (and reeeediculously cheap). If you live in NYC, hop
on the 7 train and make a special trip. It's worth it. Here's
a Google link to a bunch of reviews of the place (apparently, it's highly regarded
by lots of people).
