The December Roundup: Part One

Here are all the pics from the first half of December 2007 (almost 2 years from the time I'm writing this! Eeep!) that didn't make it into their own entry!

Sunday, December 2nd

Filthy vermin cuddle pile! I don't know whether to say "Ewwww!" or "Awwww!"

Then I watched the premiere of Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project. One of my fave comedians of all time. Soooo good.

Tuesday, December 4th

brother lawrence, mandy, meredith, michael — Later that night we went out to celebrate Lawrence's Birthday! Happy Bday, my tuxedoed friend! (This is the only photo I have from the night for some terrible reason. The pics from his last birthday party are EPIC!)

Friday, December 7th

dens, jcrowley — On Friday night I went over to Dennis' new apartment for his Holiday party. Here are the brothers Crowley getting their eggnog on.

Dens has a tree and every year people bring ornaments to the party to decorate the tree with!

Then I went over to the tree to inspect some of the ornaments people had brought! I loved these happy little robots!

Also a big fan of the Mac n' Cheese with a Hole Punched in It ornament. This was clearly made by a procrastinator who got nagged by his girlfriend on the way out the door. "But honey, the invite says we HAVE to bring an ornament for the tree!" Hahaha.

meredith — Meredith had one too many egg nogs and left the party around 2am. She didn't have keys with her so I gave her mine.

After Dens party, I went over to Hanger Bar for a bit, and when I went home about an hour later sans keys, Meredith was fast asleep and not responding to calls or door-buzzings by my locked-outside-ass. Here's me taking a grumpy photo of myself in our apartment lobby at 3am.

jeet — I started calling around to see if anyone else in the neighborhood was up and I lucked out when Gurj answered!

jeet, me — I CAN HAZ SLEEPOVER? Thanks for letting me crash at your place, G! You're the best!

Sunday, December 9th

On Sunday afternoon I went to NYU to see Meredith's ITP show.

Tuesday, December 11th

At some point in December of 2007, Meredith started getting really into gluing on fake nails and painting them! (Wait until you see the photos of when she discovered all the Dominican salons and started getting her nails airbrushed and all properly "did." Hahah).

Thursday, December 13th

brian d — On Thursday we had our big holiday party at Meetup. Here's Brian D. riding Meetup's inflatable dino mascot.

At 4:30 everyone stopped working and headed into the conference room for the big YANKEE SWAP! Everyone brings a present, then everyone chooses numbers. The person with the lowest number gets to pick a present first! Then the person with the next lowest number goes. Each person after the first person can keep the gift they open, or they can trade gifts with another person. However, each gift can only be "stolen" twice - so the person that steals a gift a second time gets to safely keep it! It's quite the game of strategy!

mark hannah, vivian — Mark chose the biggest present in the pile. The huge box turned out to contain...

mark hannah, vivian — ...a 40 oz. Bud Light and a 22 oz. Bud Light. SUCKA!

benjamin — Chris excited unwraps...

benjamin — ...a Cuisinart Waffle Maker (that I managed to expertly steal away for the 2nd time and ended up keeping!).

scott heiferman — Meetup's CEO ended up getting stuck with the Avenging Unicorn Play Set.

mark hannah, vivian — Vivian ended up with a Nerf Crossbow.

leslie, maya, scott heiferman — After gift we went out for drinks!

dominic preuss — Dominic all cozied up in his player's den. *rowr*

Friday, December 14th

On Friday morning I arrived at work and found a huge catered breakfast buffet to help everyone overcome any Holiday Party excess.

Top notch!

meredith — Later that night, we bid the rats farewell...

aki, grant — ...and headed over to Fatty's apartment for a Holiday get together! Here's Grant with his fiance (now wife!), Aki. They were in town visiting from Whistler! They're pointing at...

grant, michael martin — ...Michael Martin! This guy HATES being photographed! As soon as he realized that I had my camera out as soon as I walked through the door, he ran over to the other side of the room. When he turned away, I managed to fire off this crafty shot! A move which caused him to...

aki, grant, michael martin — ...scurry off into the kitchen to hide! He eventually emerged...

michael martin — ...but came out with his sweater over his head and said he wouldn't be uncovering his head until I promised to not take pictures of him. Yeah, because walking around at a party with a sweater over your head is probably the best way to get me to not take photos of you.

michael martin — He was pretty determined though. I think this photo, where you can see the wet spot caused by him drinking his beer THROUGH HIS SWEATER, is my favorite. Nicely done, MM.

aki, david k, grant, me, sarah l — Check out this old school reunion! Sarah Landay, Grant, Aki, DKNY and me.

niki, siege — On the other end of the photo-shyness spectrum, here's Niki and Siege. Niki was well aware of my camera and was already making come-hither eyes. Siege was momentarily unaware, but as soon as he realized I was taking pics...

amanda, grant, me, niki — This was the first time that Grant and I had hung out in a long time! Telling stories here, no doubt.

amanda, katie, meredith, niki, siege — Five people on a love seat! Awwww. After I took this photo, I put my camera down somewhere and then couldn't find it! I looked and looked, but it totally had disappeared! A couple of minutes later, I returned from getting another drink in the kitchen and it turned up. I turned the camera on...

...and found this photo of Fatty's bathroom. "Hmmm, that's strange," I thought to myself. "I don't remember taking a photo of Fatty's bathroom." Then I looked at the next photo...

fatty — ...and realized I'd been PHOTO BRAINED by the Fatty! Epic!
