On Tuesday night I went out to Brooklyn to see StellaStarr play a small rehearsal show at a club in preparation for a few larger dates they had coming up. 7 out of 10! A couple minutes later, the rest of our group returned from a walk and decided to get in the mix. Going for 10! 5 out of 7! Getting there! 3 out of 7. 300% improvement! The larger your group is, the more difficult it is to capture everyone's feet in the air when you're taking a jumping photo. 1 out of 7 = FAIL! Mandy and Brother Lawrence. Take three! If you squint, it looks like they're spelling out S-H-I-T! Take two. Beach Jump! On Sunday Casey, Sarah, Meredith, Mandy and me all met up on the A train David and Mandy. Check out how empty the beach was! I took a day off from work on Friday so that I could spend my actual birthday on the beach! Mandy met me on the subway and we headed out together! On Friday night I went to Hanger Bar for last call! Karen, Michael and Mandy were all still there. Hahaha. Karen and Mandy! Lawrence, Mandy and Michael! At first I thought Mandy and Michael were sharing a floating red leather hat, but that's when I looked closer and noticed Mr. Creepers McPeepers getting his L U R K on in the background. Mandy and Andrew were there. Then Mandy came up for a birthday-boy duet! Soooo good! On Thursday night I went to see Mandy and Stellastarr* play a show at an art gallery opening somewhere in midtown. Happy Birthday, Mandy! Fast-forward a little more than a week later (Meredith and I went on vacation to the Cayman Islands!) and it turns out I arrived back in town just in time to attend Mandy Tannen's birthday party! She may be the birthday girl... ...but I'll always be her little birthday princess! Here's Siege pretending he's shocked by Mandy giving the monkey the ball-cup from underneath reach-around! The monkey turned out to be a big hit! Here's Mandy posing with my birthday monkey! I'd invited a few of my co-workers to stop by and Piotr was the first of a few to arrive on the scene.
