Speaking of holiday traditions!
dvd
...we laid out DVDs for the ceremonial holiday watching.
dvd
...falling asleep to some double-feature DVD (Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure AND Bogus Journey on one disc! No Barchester Chronicles, unfortunately).
dvd
The class put me in just the right frame of mind to watch Total Recall with Grant when I got home. Haha.
dvd
Ellen brought some gifts for Sarah's belated birthday.
dvd
...the ANCIENT ALIENS DVD that Sarah had recently purchased!

With the forecast calling for tons of overnight snow, we decided to rent a DVD (remember those)? and have an early night so we could get up early and ski!

...and then Siege and Katie came to our place to watch this movie. It stars George C. Scott and is about the military training dolphins as assassins. I didn't think it was remotely possible that I wouldn't love this movie. But it actually sucked pretty hard. TWO THUMBS DOWN!

Ellen brought Gavin McGinnes' new DVD over to watch while we waited for everyone to arrive. Sooo funny. Definitely worth watching.
dvd
...Wildwood, NJ! It's an hour-long documentary shot on super-8 in Wildwood in 1994. (We both spent our younger years in the 609!). Definitely worth watching. You can buy the DVD here on Ruthless Films site!

On Thursday night Leigh busted out the documentary I'd gotten for her a few weeks earlier for her birthday...
dvd
The Human Face. (An awesome BBC documentary hosted by John Cleese!)
dvd
We rented Home. Meredith couldn't stand listening to my entire family make comments over the ENTIRE movie and bailed after twenty minutes. An elephant appears on the screen and my mom says, "Oooooh! An elephant." Followed by a zebra, "Ooooh, look at that zebra." You cannot even begin to fathom the level of enthusiasm and pure exuberance my mom has for nature shows. It continues to fuel my campaign to get her high. Hahah.
dvd
...and she picked My Girl! Awwwwwww. Hahaha. Happy May!
dvd
Check out the entertainment ammo. The movie The Game (Meredith had NEVER SEEN IT!), two pizzas, a pasta BREAD BOWL, 4 cupcakes and a packet of Reese's.
dvd
Hahaha. And here she is showing off HORSEFUCKER (which is my favorite title in her selection) while Mandy holds up City of Sin.
dvd
Here she is helping me show off a few choice titles: Amy Fisher Caught on Tape and Kamikaze Premium!
dvd
...it was MOVIE TIME! Check out the two movies Mer picked out from Blockbuster! Hahah.
dvd
Her overdose may also help explain why she rented Tequila Sunrise when she went to Blockbuster for movies. Hahah.

...and spent the rest of the day hiding out from the rain and reading. Around 8pm we decided to kick off PIRATED MOVIEFEST with The Beach (which you can find on pirated DVD in pretty much every single place that sells anything in Thailand). After we finished the movie, I decided to take a nap - which at 10pm, turned into bed for the night. Hahaha.
dvd
...this movie! Hahahaha. (And I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you, Bingo. Happy Valentine's Day!)

Meredith's a huge b-movie horror fan so she was totally stoked on this box set of 50 horror movies that Grant got her.
dvd
Meredith got The Garbage Pail Kids Movie (which is, hand DOWN, the worst movie of all time. It's one of those movies that would usually be so bad that it's good, but this one goes so far, that it veered back around to being bad again) and Back Door to Heaven.
dvd
...then we queued up the "Happy Holiday Hearth" DVD on Fatty's tv...
dvd
...whereas Sarah pretty much freaked the fuck out when I silently handed her the DVD and got my camera ready to capture (her amazing!) reaction.
dvd
Karen was like "What are you freaking out about.... *GASP!*"
dvd
Michael and SmellsGood BonJersey show off my latest purchase. They took it in stride...

So it's right after Christmas, and I'd just gotten back in town and after getting settled in, I decided to head out late at night and say hi to some friends. I got to the Darkroom around 3am and right after I'd arrived, look who shows up? Asian Porno Lady! I called her over and asked her to show me some of her "racier" titles. As I was going through the stack of various pirated titles, I came across this one, entitled "The Horse Fucker", and knew she'd just found a new customer. Cha-ching!
dvd
We got her Oprah's 20th Anniversary DVD collection (which was actually released on the day of her birthday!). Look how happy my mom is! (And check out my brother's magnificent "Get a load of Oprah") Hahah. Happy Birthday, mom! We love you!
dvd
Poison's greatest video hits!!! Happy 29th, Grizz!
dvd
After unpacking a few boxes, I decided to grab some dinner and nose around the stores in my new hood. Remember before when I was talking about how the Castro (which my new apartment is right on the border of) is like the gayest place in the world (not that there's anythingwrongwiththat). You probably thought I was just exaggerating to be funny. Well, check out the #1 selling DVD at Tower Video just down the street from me. That's right it's...
dvd
..."Guys Gone WILD." (I'm not going to even get into the signs on the street outside of Gold's Gym "We work up a sweat keeping our MEMBERS HARD!") Aren't puns like that illegal in public? Holy moly!
dvd
Leigh got me both seasons of The Office on DVD...

Then it was time for the birthday girl to open PRESENTS! It's my firm belief that no DVD home library is complete with out Richard's Pryor's 1982 seminal cinema-classic, The Toy.
