Thursday, April 30th

meredith — Ooops! Guess I forgot to include these with April. On the last night of April, Meredith made homemade falafel!

Holy fried goodness. Whoa.

maddy — These two were very interested in the smell of frying falafel. Mmmm.

Friday, May 1st

goldteeth, lord easy — On Friday night we went to Poisson Rouge to see KKTC! Here's Lord Easy and Chris kicking things off.

goldteeth, lord easy, michael scheiner — This guy Michael is one of my favorite people to watch do karaoke.

This guy in the white sweater was a mess.

amanda, lord easy, scott ward — Scott and Amanda did a duet. Scott is a karaoke team player! When Amanda was singing, he was totally busting out all kinds of crazy dance moves along with her lyrics.

meredith — Meredith had a little too much karaoke juice and had to hug the wall on the elevator ride home. Haha.

Saturday, May 2nd

mitzi — On Saturday afternoon I watched Mitzi poke her little rat face through the hole she chewed in her hammock.

mitzi — Look at her bright orange top teeth! So cheesy.

I ordered the Buffalo Blue Cheeseburger from Curly's Vegetarian Lunch. MY FAVORITE!

me, meredith — We spent the afternoon watching DVR'ed episodes of Wife Swap. The episode where the black dude ends up living with an entire family that's into renaissance reenactment made me laugh until I cried.

leigh, me, meredith — Leigh was in another country for work (Spain?) for a couple of weeks so later that night we had a tele-party via iChat. Miss you, roomie!

me, meredith — Just a quiet Saturday night at home.

Sunday, May 3rd

The United States of Fart (check out the top of the bill).

maddy — I went into my office in the evening and found both of the dogs burrowing into the comforter on the couch.

Edie had her face tucked under the edge...

maddy — ...and Maddy had rolled herself up like a taco.

maddy — Aww.

maddy, scott m — Later that night Scott came over to hang and was attacked with love!

maddy, scott m — Funnily enough, I don't think this is the first time he's had two wieners in his face! Ba-dum-cha!

maddy, scott m — Hahaha. Let me taste that delicious nose of yours!

Saturday, May 9th

On Saturday we were walking through Tompkins Square Park and we saw the red-tailed hawk hanging out in the children's playground...

...waiting for some delicious unattended children to show up!

Later that evening, Pauly and I headed up to some bar on the Upper West Side that's right on the Hudson...

dennis, ian c, igor, pauly — ...and met up with my co-workers Dennis, Igor and Ian.

dennis, ian c, igor, pauly — Put 'em back.

pauly, pizza the dog — Later that night, we came back to the East Village and drank beers on Pauly's roof with Pizza the dog.

lisa, maddy — Late night we ended up back at our place and Lisa got to take adorable pictures with Maddy. Awwww.

Sunday, May 10th

aunt elaine, grandma, mom — On Sunday I went out to my Aunt and Uncle's house for family dinner. Here's my Aunt Elaine, Grandma and mom.

Thursday, May 14th

mike deluca — On Thursday afternoon I headed out to NJ with Mike DeLuca, Yodle's head of sales to pitch a large client about a partnership. The menu maze at the diner where we ate lunch was a real brain buster.

Saturday, May 16th

fatty — On Saturday night I headed to the West Village to attend FATTY'S BACHELOR PARTY! Here's the bachelor himself!

andy f, colin, fatty — After some warm up drinks and snacks at the Fatty's, we walked over to Flatiron for a BBQ feast at Hill Country.

I had macaroni and salad. And it was awesome.

fatty — Fatty was popping peanut butter and jelly cupcakes like they were Tic Tacs.

After two solid hours of eating, we waddled cross-town to a bar called O'Flannagan's...

frank — ...because Frank had a gig there and we wanted to say hi and hear them play!

andy f, fatty — Dave and Andy (Big Fatty and Little Fatty!).

andy f, colin, fatty — Instead of forcing Fatty to go to a noody bar in Queens, around 1am we all headed to our apartment and played Rockband. Haha.

kip, maddy — It's a four-player game and we had five people so whoever wasn't playing was in charge of petting Maddy.

andy f, colin, fatty, kip — Kit, Andy, Dave and Colin getting ready to head out. Congrats, Fatty!

Sunday, May 17th

On Sunday morning I got out of the shower and saw this yellow spider on our bathroom mirror!

Neat-o, right?

maddy, meredith — Maddy likes to sleep behind Meredith when she's working. Haha.

When Rite Aid has the big variety boxes of freeze pops, I am a happy guy.

maddy, mandy — Later that night Mandy game over and we played some Wii...

mandy — ...AND some Rockband.

lisa, maddy, me, meredith, pauly, pizza the dog — Then later that night, Lisa and Pauly (and Pizza the dog!) came over for Family Night.

Check out the entertainment ammo. The movie The Game (Meredith had NEVER SEEN IT!), two pizzas, a pasta BREAD BOWL, 4 cupcakes and a packet of Reese's.

I'm still not entirely sure how I made it through 2009 without contracting Type-2 diabetes.

astra, catrinel, cynthia, fatty, katie d, leigh, marina, maureen, meredith, nina, sarah h, scott m — On Friday night a whole bunch of us went over to Siege and KT's to surprise KT with a welcome back party!

katie — Surprise!

katie, siege — We totally caught her off-guard. It took her ten whole seconds to process the surprise.

amanda, astra, cynthia, katie, katie d, siege — Surprise!

fatty, leigh, meredith, scott m — We moved the party into the kitchen and chowed down.

amanda, scott m — There's a table next to the kitchen that's always covered with a rotating assortment of beautiful and/or strange art and objects. This time around we all got interested in a mirror that had big metal loop on a hinge that you could use to hang the mirror around your neck. For when you shave?

fatty, marina — Fatty was the first to get it to balance properly.

leigh, siege — Hahaha.

leigh — Nose smash.

leigh — We were trying to line it up to that it was Leigh's (pretty green!) eyes and my mouth. Miss.

fatty, leigh — Great (creepy!) success.

leigh — What are you working on there, Leigh?

meredith — Meredith missed all the neck-mirror and night-cheese fun because she snuck away to TAKE A NAP AT THE PARTY! Haha. I sneaked into where she was sleeping and thought I was being all crafty when I snapped this picture...

meredith — ...but immediately after the flash went off, I saw her silently extend one finger to let me know that she was actually awake.

leigh, scott — While going through a stack of photo books in the living room, we came across a gem called The Big Penis Book.

Edie fell asleep resting her chin in a sunbeam on the stairs. A-dorable.

We noticed the diner on the corner of 14th and B was having a grand re-opening (with flags and everything!) so we decided to give it a shot for a late lunch.

I was flipping through a magazine that Leigh had (V Magazine maybe?) and Greg's ex boyfriend Martin was in one of the shoots looking like a sexy lady!

Awesomeness.

leigh — Later that night Leigh got out the medical supplies and did some serious home-surgery on her split big toe nail.

Ahhhhhhhhh!

Monday, May 25th

me, meredith — I had off work on Monday so Meredith and I decided to hop on the subway and to the magical faraway land of...

...Flushing Queens!

Living in New York is great because you can pretty much hop on any subway line, ride for a couple of stops and when you get off you feel like you're in a totally different city (or country sometimes).

First stop, vegetarian chinese food!

Check out some of their wacky menu items.

I call bullshit.

meredith — Holy pile of fried appetizer.

You know, just a nice light meal.

They certainly had our numbers.

After eating, we went over to the Flushing Mall, which is basically like getting teleported to a mall in Asia.

The colors and the lighting and the architecture all seem so foreign.

meredith — Awesomely weird, right?

meredith — They had a whole bunch of those blank cows that get painted by different artists in various stages of completion.

meredith — I'd go with the more muted one.

Hahaha. There was a stall at the mall that sold nothing but stretchy pants with stitching printed on them to make them look like REAL pants with REAL pockets! Hahahahahaha. OMG, hahahahaha.

There were several wedding photography stores.

THE CYBER-RELAX CRIME SCENE! Sometimes even the most kind-hearted robot-chairs go a little mad.

...is a TINNY sign!

candy — On the way back to the subway I went into a bodega and bought a giant bag of CREAMY CORN CANDY so I'd have a nice weird memento of our lovely trip.

leigh, maddy — Later that night, Leigh and I took turns playing DOGGIE DENTIST and wiggling all of Maddy's loose baby teeth!

maddy — If you look carefully, you can see she's both of her top cuspids! They fell out and you can see her big girl teeth coming through her gums.

maddy — Wiggle wiggle! Her breath smelled awful. Leigh best described it as smelling like "when you skin your knee skateboarding and smell the wet bandage." Hahaha. Ewwwww.

Tuesday, May 26th

Tuesday night we went to Bowery Electric...

leigh, me — ...and had a couple of drinks in the back.

cyan, posh tony — We were on our way out when we ran into Cyan and Posh Tony so we decided to stick around for a bit longer.

me, posh tony — This fucking guy.

Wednesday, May 27th

On Wednesday night, we walked through Stuytown's lovely gardens over to the Blockbuster on 1st Ave (RIP, video rental stores!). It was Leigh's turn to pick out the movie...

candy, leigh — ...and she picked My Girl! Awwwwwww. Hahaha. Happy May!

oh dude, you live in NYC and eat Dominos Pizza!! What i wouldn't give for a real NY pizza.

  Oh, the shame! The shame! Haha. It's true - every time I order Dominos pizza I half-cringe - but at the same time, they deliver later than most local pizza places and it's super cheap. Ordering a comparable amount of food from a local place is 2x - 3x the price. You get what you pay for and sometimes cheap, chain pizza is what fits the bill. ;)
