Saturday, October 25th

amanda, cynthia, katie
On Saturday evening, we headed over to Siege and KT's apartment for a jackolantern carving party! (Just like the previous year!)

Haha. Siege and Nina.

Amanda makes a deposit in the seed bowl.
Some of the finished specimens! Note Siege's black-painted "Pinhead" pumpkin! Yes!
amanda
Amanda painted her pumpkin black and carved LIPS!
cynthia, me, meredith
Hahaha. I love this photo. Me, Mer and Millie show off our see no, hear no speak no evil TRIO.
All lit up.
On the way home we saw a three year old girl wearing knee-high, platform-heeled hooker boots for Halloween (uh, at least we hoped it was for Halloween).
barack
Then when we got off the subway we passed these creepy Barack-masked mannequins on a Broadway storefront display. So unsettling.

Sunday, October 26th

On Sunday afternoon I walked down to Tompkins Square Park to see the annual dog costume parade. A-dor-a-ble.
Edie was there wearing the Crayola Wiener Crayon outfit that Meredith Leigh made. (Sorry, Leigh! I forgot!)
Edie's expression in this photo is the dog equivalent of when Ralphie's mom makes him put the bunny suit on in A Christmas Story.
A hat's bad, Edie, but at least it's not an Elvis wig.
Oscar the Grouch!

Pointy cone head!
Who's the happiest little Mariachi dog?
Buds.
alexis
Alexis is blue.
Space dog won first prize at the parade. (Which was probably well-deserved because it can't be easy to train your dog to be cool walking around with a big plastic bowl around on his head).
Don't even get me started on the awesome homemade jetpack.
Edie sort of got used to her costume and kept it on even after we left the park.
Happy Halloween, Crayola Weasel!

Friday, October 31st

aziza, michael jackson
At the office a bunch of people dressed up - but all costumes took a backseat to Aziza totally SLAYING Thiller-era MJ. So perfect.
jenny penny, josh adcock
Halloween was on a Friday and that kind of sucks because then EVERYONE comes into town and the streets get a little messy. I was moseying down 2nd Ave on my way to a party and I randomly ran into Josh and Jenny. A full two years before the Jersey Shore debuted on MTV Josh absolutely murdered with his douchebag costume. (Check him doing the shocker and everything!). Jenny was the Wicked Witch of the West. Man, I can't stop looking at Josh's outfit. Ok, and that killer pout. Genius.
josh adcock
Let's not forget the bronze sheen and perfectly-penciled chinstrap. Man, this photo simultaneously makes me laugh and shiver.
brother lawrence, mandy
Speaking of epic, later on that night I met up with Mandy and Lawrence who were dressed up as WHAM! HAHAHAH.
george michael, mandy
Mandy as George Michael makes me feel funny.
george michael, mandy
So good / upsetting. (Keep in mind, this is like a full two years BEFORE that girl turned herself into Jared Leto. Hahaha.)
As we pushed through the masses of people cluttering the sidewalk, I couldn't help but stop and admire...
...GREEN MAN! If you watch Sunny, you know that this is an awesome costume and homeboy had the pose and the dance moves down too.
We went to Bar on A and had some drinks and enjoyed the low key vibe inside.
brother lawrence, mandy
George and Andrew: take me dancing tonight.
brother lawrence, mandy
Choose life, indeed. This photo is so pefect. Mandy as George Michael is something I will never be able to unseeeeeeeee! Happy Halloween!
