Amy and Matt's Wedding

Amy Albano has been in my life for a long time! We went to high school together. We were roommates in college. And when I moved to NYC a year after graduation, it was Amy who put me up in her Gowanus apartment. We moved out of Gowanus together and undertook the huge task of building a two-story, four-bedroom house inside an empty loft in Greenpoint. Needless to say, she is great. Nothing made me happier than to attend her and Matt's wedding. Congrats, you guys!

Sunday, October 19th

You are invited.
The ceremony was held at Seton Shrine, a really cool church built in 1809 that's all the way down at the southern tip of Manhattan in the financial district.
Check out how it's dwarfed by the surrounding buildings.

Ten minutes later: Amy Albano is now Amy Jachyra! Congrats, you guys!
The reception was right across the street at a place in Battery Park right on the water. Walking through the park we spotted a turkey.

After the cocktail hour was finished, we headed inside into the main ballroom. Here's where they announced the wedding party. I only know the names of the bridal party side. Jess D!

I went to go get drinks while Mer waited for our photo booth pictures to develop. By the time I'd returned, they were ready!
Here's our photo booth strip. Amy and Matt had a big blank book in the reception hall and glue so that people could paste their photos into the book and write the bride and groom a message. Such and awesome idea.

Nothing is cuter than a bunch of little kids just feeling it on the dance floor.

Awwww. Look at Meredith and Jess getting their hearts melted...

Cake cutting time!

Amy called Jen up to stand next to the beautiful cake she made. I love Amy's expression and how she's pointing at the cake and at Jen like "She made this! I know!"

Yay, Jen!
Everybody gathering round to witness...
amy a, matt j
...the tandem cake cutting. Nicely done, you two.
Jen, your cake was amazing. I had cake AND a giant blueberry cheesecake thingy. Whoa.

These next couple photos I took from Jen's photos because they are so good! Jen and Amy! High school besties.

The next sequence of photos does a fairly awesome job of summarizing what happens pretty much every time I attend a wedding. Oh yes, there will be dancing.

This photo makes me laugh out loud every time I see it. Soooo good. (Bonus points to Jessica for finger-pointing like a professional wrestler from the 80s. Yes!)
This is the book we pasted our photobooth pictures into! Congratulations, Amy & Matt! Thanks for having us!
