...while I played Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess until 5am in the morning. (When I get into a video game, I pretty much get obsessed. I end up staying up all hours playing them just so I can beat them and get on with my life). I named my character's horse "Ponyhole" and when this gem of dialogue popped up on screen, I felt it merited a screenshot.
On Thursday night I went to The Annex to celebrate Lawrence's birthday! He'd decided to have a karaoke party and this year got Lord Easy & Chris Goldteeth to host the festivities!
Here they are kicking off the night (and you can see the tuxedoed birthday boy in the background). (Bonus points to Lord Easy for his homemade Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five On the Strength shirt!)
Happy Birthday, Brother Lawrence! I love that he wore a tux. So great. All the photos that have the red "ST" logo in the bottom left corner were taken by Brad Walsh for Stolen Transmission and I stole a bunch of his pictures because 1) They're great. And 2) because I was so busy getting drunk and singing karaoke that I didn't take as many pics as I normally do!
This night was probably one of the best karaoke nights I've ever been to (and I've been to A LOT of karaoke). Pretty much every single person that hit the stage went full-out and sang their heart out. So when it was finally my turn to sing, I knew I had no choice but to go with some Jovi.
Considering the timestamp on this photo says 4:09am, I'm guessing this photo was taken as (a totally blottoed) Lawrence took the stage to (angrily) thank everyone for coming before he sang the last song of the night. Lawrence, why are you waving a dollar around? Does anyone remember what was going on here?
Lawrence didn't let the late hour or his extreme intoxication stand in the way of TOTALLY DELIVERING on the last song of the night. Talk about going big right to the end...his finale included...
...a motherfucking STAGE DIVE into the crowd! Thanks again to Brad Walsh for being there with a camera, otherwise this moment would've been lost to history forever!
And thus ends one of my favorite karaoke nights of all time.
Happy Birthday, Lawrence!
Friday, December 8th
Lawrence was waaaay to drunk to make it home from his party so he spent the night on our couch! We spent the next day working off our hangovers with a little Wii Bowling! Here's Lawrence showing off his bowling form!
On Saturday night, Fatty and I met up to head out to Brooklyn for Frank and Liz's annual holiday party! Neither of us know jack-shit about wine so I was more than happy to let Fatty play sommelier at the wine store. He ended up going with this vintage bottle of "Ey" because he liked the colors and the picture of the horsie...and I couldn't help but agree!
On Wednesday I went out and ended up running into the guys from Group Sounds and we ended up out on a bender. About four seconds after I took this photo, that blond girl slapped Jared right in the face. Hahahah.
On Saturday night my parents came into town for the day! After walking around and having lunch in our neighborhood, we went back to our apartment so my parents could try out our new Wii! My mom actually played a video game and liked it!
Later that evening, we took the subway up to Times Square because my parents wanted to see the picture of Meredith and I on the side of the MTV building. (It was the first time either Meredith or I had seen it too!)
...KEG STANDS! Hahaha. What started out as a joke quickly turned into reality as we all got drunk. Sarah went first! Homegirl got hoisted! Check out how perfectly vertical she is!
On Monday night I admired some of the holiday ornaments Meredith made during her latest craft-obsession. Here's a star, a dog and the bead-ornament version of the two of us! Hahaha!
I spent Tuesday night hiding from holiday parties trying to wrap up Zelda so that I could stop obsessing over it! "Oh, over the Bridge of Eldin? Thanks, Goron!"
