I had a bunch of time before my flight so I decided to take a walk across the tracks...

All advertisements have subliminally hidden messages as well. This movie was the inspiration for a lot of Shepard Fairey's work

There was a Whistler billboard at the airport and you can see Aki and Grant's apartment in the photo they used. Here's Grant pointing to their apt window!

All growsed up and all growsed up!

Congrats, Leigh!

...look who it is!

Yodle's old offices were located on 39th St and 8th Ave. On Tuesday afternoon I was headed back to the office after lunch and I noticed a certain familiar someone on the giant GAP billboard that they'd recently put up...

Speaking of chowing down, check out the huge scoreboard on the side of the Nathan's building that simultaneously counts down the days to the next Hot Dog Eating Contest as well as shows the current male and female records. (66 and 39, respectively!)

Later that evening, we took the subway up to Times Square because my parents wanted to see the picture of Meredith and I on the side of the MTV building. (It was the first time either Meredith or I had seen it too!)
billboard
In mid-December, Meredith and I started getting emails "Uh, are you guys on a Billboard in Times Square?" so we hopped on the subway to see ourselves for ourselves. Look! There we are! Random!

And here's the last three panels. The proof she sent us showed that all the panels would be made into one huge sign that would be put on the front of MTV's studios right underneath where they film TRL.

Three more panels of randos!

I know everyone in these panels! Missy, kissing a dog! And Jack Black and Kyle Gass!

Same goes for the next three panels, I think these are all just people that Ellen cast for the shoot.

A few weeks later Ellen emailed us to tell us that we'd been chosen for the campaign and that we were going to be on a billboard! Here are cut-ups I made from the proofs she sent us! Me smooching Meredith. Not sure who's in the panel next to us - two guys from a band?

So I hung it up and left her a lil' thank you note.

Before leaving, I left a surprise in the bathroom (er, one that's better than the surprises I usually leave in there!). Meredith was cast as in a model for one of the Apple catalogs and they ended up hanging a huge banner of her up in the Apple store in SoHo. Our friend Lauren worked there at the time and I asked her to save it for me when they took it down (because Meredith's mom was so proud she wanted it. Hahahah).

And last but not least, my friend Jeanie got some huge cellphone ad campaign and her face (looking like she just smelt catshit) is plastered up and down my entire street. Congrats, Jeanie!

You probably know this already, but advertising is WAY better in the UK.

I saw this on the subway: A huge advertisement for a new show on UPN called "The Mullets." Before throwing myself onto the tracks, I decided it'd be better to wait a few weeks and see how the show did. If it failed miserably, maybe there'd still be some hope for this planet and I wouldn't have to kill myself. So now that some time has passed I Googled the show to find out how it's doing and the good news is that it was put on hiatus after 6 episodes because it was the "the least-watched series on any of the six networks this fall." Yay! I can live! *Whew!*
