The September Roundup Part One

The Roundup is something I do each month where I post all the pictures from stuff that doesn't merrit their own entry but still deserves a little rememberence. In September, I took so many pictures of random stuff that the Roundup Entry actually needed to be split into two parts! Holy cuh-rap! Ready? Here we go...

Sometimes those late night food tv commercials can straight fuck your night up. Grant and I were at my house watching tv, trying to figure out what to get for dinner, and all of a sudden this KFC commercial comes on. We both started drooling and were like, "Let's get that (points to TV)." The nearest KFC is up on 14th and 1st (about 20 blocks from my place) so on the walk up, we called the Fatty and he joined us. We got to that KFC only to find it closed early for construction. We remember that there was another KFC on 14th near 6th Ave. Craving chicken, we braved on. As we went up to order, the lady told us, "We're closing - but if you want, I'll give you two buckets of chicken, biscuits and three sodas for ten bucks." SOLD! Cha-ching!

And so this is how our simple journey for a little KFC turned into an bacchanalia of gluttony. Fatty gets to work on his umpteenth piece.

I mean, look at the size of the sodas the lady gave us. They were so big they actually had a little handle up top like a BEACH PAIL.

After we polished off the first bucket, Grant was feeling pretty sick. Fatty and I started on the second bucket and Grant was like "Please stop eating you guys. Seriously. I'm so full the sound of you eating is going to make me throw up."

Here's me leaning in and making eating noises trying to get Grant to make good on his threat. (I figured worse case scenario, if he actually did throw up, we could just put one of the huge soda-pails in front of him to catch the mess!).

Afterward the chicken incident, Fatty and Grant went home to nurse their stomachs - I walked over to HiFi to meet up with Danielle and Krucoff (and that's Heather D. in tha middle).

emily, grant
So in early September, Emily, one of my best friends from high school moved from Boston to NYC. Right before moving in, she went on vacation with her parents to the (aw, yeah) Jersey Shore. When she got back into town Sunday night, she told us to come to her house because she had (dramatic pause) presents for Grant and I. Here she is making Grant close his eyes and telling time to "Pick a hand: left or right."
grant
Grant went with "right" which meant that he got the white, sleeveless "Wildwood" baby-tee.

Which left the black one for me.

How do you turn two baby-tees into muscle-tees? Easy! You just put them on two huge, musclebound hulks of men.

On Wednesday our company went out to dinner with AOL to celebrate the closing of a deal under which Spring Street is going to power AOL's Love.com. Barry (the guy who came up with the idea for instant messaging, holy crap) Louis and Scott.

Compared to a few other previous company related parties (um this one and this one immediately come to mind), this night was pretty tame as we were having to be on our best behavior for AOL.
On the walk home I spotted this (what I'm guessing is an '86) Lamborghini Countach parked right across the street from my apartment in front of Capitale. I half-heartedly hung around hoping the owner would come out and I could take a picture of him before he drove it back to the set of Miami Vice but after 10 minutes I got bored and went home.

nina
Thursday night Nina and I went out. Other than Nina's slutty outfit (hi, what's up blazer and nothing else), the night was uneventful and I didn't (believe it or not) take any other pics.

Saturday, September 13th

Anyone who hangs out with me should know better than to think they can simply walk into the bathroom and start using the toilet while I'm in there brushing my teeth. Here's me getting the one-handed, sneaky "I caught you peeing" hip-shot photo.

Later that night, Grant and I headed over to some the Coral Room for some party celebrating weirdo author J.T. Leroy. On the walk up, Grant and I spotted a girl showing gratuitous butt crack inside an ice cream parlor and we stopped outside to try to get a sneaky picture of it.
The party was a little much. It was way too over crowded and we'd missed the open bar. We were just about to leave when we ran into...

...our friend Tracy...
johann, me
...and his friend Johann (who you might recognize from the Bizarro Me entry). I was so glad to finally meet this guy. For the last year or so, not a month would pass without someone walking up to me in a dimly lit bar and thinking I was this guy.
While we were standing around shooting the shit with Tracy, all of a sudden this girl busted out onto the dance floor with the strap from her giant "fashion purse" pulled over her face and just started freaking the fuck out. After watching her do her thing (maybe it was performance art?) for a few minutes, we decided it was time to head out.
tara
I got home to find Tara hanging out in my apartment and wearing my underwear. Hey, you'd be hiding your face too if I'd caught you drinking drinking a wine cooler! Cuh-lassy! Hahaha

Monday, September 15th

I saw this on the subway: A huge advertisement for a new show on UPN called "The Mullets." Before throwing myself onto the tracks, I decided it'd be better to wait a few weeks and see how the show did. If it failed miserably, maybe there'd still be some hope for this planet and I wouldn't have to kill myself. So now that some time has passed I Googled the show to find out how it's doing and the good news is that it was put on hiatus after 6 episodes because it was the "the least-watched series on any of the six networks this fall." Yay! I can live! *Whew!*

Earlier on in the day, I'd gotten a call from Seth Bienstock, a friend of mine from high school that I hadn't seen in almost 10 years! He had recently moved back to the east coast from San Fran and was going to be out in Brooklyn later that night at a bar where some friends of his where hosting a Trivia Night.

Awwwwww yeah, Roxbury High School in the ha-higgity, boyeeeee.
