Monday November 10th marked the official end of my two and a half years of employment at Spring Street Networks, an online dating company that I left nerve.com to help get off the ground. I had been talking to my boss about leaving for a while, but when I got back from vacation, things came to head sooner than I expected and I found myself a free agent. (Don't worry, don't worry - after five months of traveling and goofing off, I've since taken a new job).
Compared to a few other previous company related parties (um this one and this one immediately come to mind), this night was pretty tame as we were having to be on our best behavior for AOL.
On Wednesday our company went out to dinner with AOL to celebrate the closing of a deal under which Spring Street is going to power AOL's Love.com. Barry (the guy who came up with the idea for instant messaging, holy crap) Louis and Scott.
Friday night we went over to the meatpacking district to celebrate the release of Mark Bibbin's (aka - Tha Notorious B.I.B. aka - the "Virile Poet) new book of poems, Sky Lounge.
On Thursday, my whole company took the afternoon off to see "The Matrix: Reloaded." (Yeah, we're big, fucking dorks. I know). Louis' six year old son Stephen came along and the movie got him so wound-up that when we got out of the theater he jumped up into this big potted flower display outside the theater and started romping through them...
You may remember these two from the last company party we had. In fact, Eric's drunken antics proved to be so tremendous, that they merited their own sub-section within the entry. Eric and Peter took it easy this party and stepped aside to let Alex M. step up to the plate for his five minutes of Internet fame. Ladies and Gentleman (and future employers of Alex who will no doubt discover this during their obligatory, pre-hire, Google-snooping) it is with great pleasure that I present to you:
Yep, not even three minutes later and Deborah's already grabbing my titty. Watch carefully as the effects of tequilla unfold before your very eyes. (Also, it should be noted that this is also the point in the evening where, with the exception of Jim, every single Nerve employee pussed out and went home. Spring Street Reprazent, yo!!!)
