...but came out with his sweater over his head and said he wouldn't be uncovering his head until I promised to not take pictures of him. Yeah, because walking around at a party with a sweater over your head is probably the best way to get me to not take photos of you.
He was pretty determined though. I think this photo, where you can see the wet spot caused by him drinking his beer THROUGH HIS SWEATER, is my favorite. Nicely done, MM.
...Michael Martin! This guy HATES being photographed! As soon as he realized that I had my camera out as soon as I walked through the door, he ran over to the other side of the room. When he turned away, I managed to fire off this crafty shot! A move which caused him to...
And there was even a surprise visit from our good friend...shit, what's this guy's name again? I can't even remember. Seriously, if you read this David Forman, you're a dick. A big, not-returning-my-phone-calls dick. Last time this kid talked to me was to ask me to help him with his video Valentine's Day gift...which I spent like five hours on. Haven't heard a peep from him since. Dick, dick, dick. Holy Jesus Marymotherofgod,
what a dick. (I still love you, though. So for fuck's sake call
me if you see this, shitcock. Ok?)
On Wednesday Grant came back from London (he stayed behind to hang with his parents after our vacation ended, remember?) and was going to be in NYC for a few days (one of which we threw him a surprise party) before heading back to Los Angeles to do some final work oh his television pilot (nope, so not kidding). That night Fatty, (the rarely photographed) Michael Martin and myself all met up with Grant at the nearby Congee Village for some tasty dinner.
See? I told you EmEm was with us! Nobody ever believes us. See how he's trying to hide behind that big beer? This guy hates photos like fat people hate salads.
If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting Michael Martin, you might think he was a shy guy - and totally not the type to show up outta nowhere, grab the mic, and represent with a heart-wrenching rendition of the Cars' classic 80's rock ballad, Drive.
When Grant ran into a little trouble singing George Michael's "Kissing a Fool," Michael ran up to the stage to lend support with this "lone lighter" salute.
So check it out: we're at Pianos and all of these people are rushing around whispering "Heidi Klum's here! Heidi Klum's here!"So Michael and I (keep in mind were hopped up EarlyTimes style) decidedthat we'd track her down and get a pic with her for this site. So we're looking all over the place and finally we go into the backroom downstairs (where it's really dark), and we see this blonde sitting against the wall with a guy.
Michael (squinting):
"Hey, is that her?" Me (swaying):
"Ummm, I don't think so."
Michael:
"Yeah, me either."
Me:
"We should get a pic of her anyway."
Look at her face in the background - we were trying to be discrete but I think she was onto us.
I earned $50,000 from the National Enquirerer for capturing photographic evidence of Michael Martin's social life. Seriously, this guy's more elusive than the Yeti.
