On Wednesday evening, a whole bunch of us went to a Japanese restaurant near Amanda's place in the financial district. Her friends John and Lori had recently been deep sea fishing and the chef at the restaurant was willing to take their fresh catch and turn it into dinner!

On Saturday evening, Mer and I had a light sushi dinner (and Meredith put chopsticks up her nose!)...

Then we headed back down to the East Village and took Grant's mom and Grammy Pam out for dinner at a Japanese BBQ restaurant! Check out Grammy Pam laughing about her chopsticks! I love this photo so much!

...and Satanism / Mötley Crüe. Hahahah. (We would've outnumbered Team: Jew but Katie was out in Minnesota spending the holidays with her family).

We made sure we had a segregated table. The Jews sat on one side of table and repped for the Tribe with this awesome chopstick Star of David...

Smoking. Eating. Drinking. No big deal. This was our last night in Japan, so over dumplings we decided to make the most of it by not going to bed that night!

After getting off in Tribecca, I managed to convince Grant to forego Mandarin Court (which had been our dim sum place for years) in order to try an all-veggie dim sum place.

My selling pitch? "It's exactly like Mandarin Court dim sum except you have a much lesser chance of contracting hepatitis B and/or ebola!"

We ended up in this tiny, hole-in-the-wall pastry shop and ordered all sorts of cakes, rolls, breads and steamed buns.

Then late night, we met up with the lizzadies...

In the AM I met up with Grant and the Fatty for one final Dim Sum brunch down in Chinatown. (Where after years of eating there with us, Fatty finally spoke up and told us "Hey, you know what? I don't even really like dim sum.")

On Wednesday Grant came back from London (he stayed behind to hang with his parents after our vacation ended, remember?) and was going to be in NYC for a few days (one of which we threw him a surprise party) before heading back to Los Angeles to do some final work oh his television pilot (nope, so not kidding). That night Fatty, (the rarely photographed) Michael Martin and myself all met up with Grant at the nearby Congee Village for some tasty dinner.
