They have concerts out behind their building every Tuesday in the summer and people come to watch the bands even when it rains.

Tuesday, June 18th was also the day investigative war-reporter Michael Hastings was killed in a very suspect single-car crash. RIP Michael Hastings. (If you don't know his story, he's definitely worth reading-up on).

Broken umbrella! Was this worth points or did Meredith just break it? No idea!

On Sunday morning I told Meredith I was having brunch with some former co-workers that were in town visiting, but I was really secretly meeting up with Amanda, Scott and Leigh to go shopping FOR AN ENGAGEMENT RING! Oh, snap!

That's right! After four years of dating, I decided that I was going to surprise Meredith and ask her to marry me at Sarah Lewitinn's Memorial Day BBQ; it was the fourth anniversary of the very same party that Meredith asked me out on our first date in 2004!

Around 12:30, Jenny Penny announced that the after-after party had started to Hanger Bar and that we should meet her there. Then she popped out a tit.

...and proceeded to relax the fuck out of it.

Tragedy averted, we hit the beach....

Jenny Penny showed up and from across the room I saw her gliding and stumbling through the crowd. Stumbing, sure that's standard Jenny Penny behavior. But gliding? I was totally confused. But as she got closer, it became clear that the reason she was gliding and stumbling wasn't because she was drunk...
umbrella
...it was because she was wearing ROLLERSKATES! Hahaha. Oh, Jenny Penny you're my favorite. She also, for reasons unknown to any rational human, decided that a pink frilly parasol was the perfect accessory to her indoor rollerskates and knee-high sports-socks! Hahaha.

Having been out of town for a few weeks, first order of business upon my first full day back from the Europe Trip was to catch up with people I hadn't seen in a while. I went back over to Soho to visit David in his umbrella store (which he's since made way bigger and moved to a fancy neighborhood uptown. If you're looking for a nice gift for a dapper fella, go give his new store, Brellabar, a visit).

After dinner, the Cravens hopped a cab and headed back to New Jersey. (Thanks for dinner, guys!)

London being London, it started raining just a few minutes after we got off the tube. We looked around for umbrellas and these were the only ones we could find. "Haaaaaaaaaaaay!"

Then Chris rolled his hat up into a leeeetle beret and started wandering the streets asking for directions in a feminine, French accent. I almost shit myself as Londoners elected to tromp through puddles rather than going near him and risking any type of interaction.
