Later that night, Meredith, Matt and I met up with Alex (who was in the same improv class as Matt & I) and we went to see the Sunday night Asscat show at the UCB Theater.
Asscat's special guest was John Krasinski (and he was hilarious). Here's Meredith ambushing him with a smooch (which caused him to reflexively make a Jim Halpert face!).
Monday was Memorial Day and a bunch of us went to brunch at La Palapa. Meredith showed off her tongue tricks. Here's her world-famous "I can make my tongue into a bowl." Which was followed by...
Jenny Penny showed up and from across the room I saw her gliding and stumbling through the crowd. Stumbing, sure that's standard Jenny Penny behavior. But gliding? I was totally confused. But as she got closer, it became clear that the reason she was gliding and stumbling wasn't because she was drunk...
...it was because she was wearing ROLLERSKATES! Hahaha. Oh, Jenny Penny you're my favorite. She also, for reasons unknown to any rational human, decided that a pink frilly parasol was the perfect accessory to her indoor rollerskates and knee-high sports-socks! Hahaha.
Halfway through the song, Chris left the stage and brought the rock out into the crowd. (Check out the look Jenny Penny is giving him over there on the left. I love the fact that the girl who decided to wear ROLLERSKATES INDOORS TO KARAOKE is like "I don't know about this guy. Seems like he's going a little overboard.")
When Jenny finished with her song and came down off the stage I showed her this zoomed-in view of a photo I'd just taken. She was like "What? What is that?" I was like "Uhhhh, that's your cameltoe." Her eyes got huge and she was like "There's no way that's my..." and as she spoke I zoomed out on the photo...
...she stopped mid-sentence as soon as it became clear that I was indeed showing her a picture of her own crotch and just goes "NOOOOOOOOO!" Hahahaha. Amazing. Jenny Penny I ♥ you so much!
I wasn't even planning on singing, but Chris put on Laura Brannigan's Gloria (which everyone knows is my favorite karaoke song) and he called me up on stage to tackle it duet-style.
Big ups to Gurj who took my camera and used it to take some of the funniest pictures I've ever seen of me singing karaoke (which is quite an accomplishment when you think about how many photos there are of me singing karaoke).
A little past 1am all the bands finished playing downstairs. So Jasper busted out his Playstation and set up Guitar Hero on the big screen (with the audio patched through the club's PA system! Rock!) Here's Shandi.
