Spent the afternoon playing around my ruler and compass learning about how two overlapping circles (two) allows you to draw a perfect equilateral triangle in the resulting vesica pisces . More dewdlin. Spent the evening drawing. Doing my best to figure out how to reproduce this neato design with ruler and compass. Spent Friday morning reading a book on sacred geometry and using a compass and square to draw a pentagon. It's something that looks so simple, but it's WAY MORE COMPLICATED that you'd ever imagine. Fun to have a way to take my 2D drawings and try to figure out the 3-dimensional objects they are projections of! The Flower of Life is a lot more than a neato design. It hints at the underlying structure of Plank space ! ...is a hypercube. A tesseract... Very cool modeling kit that lets you make all sorts of crystalline structures that appear in nature. And a giant set of ZomeTools. Got some fun geometry toys. Fractiles magnets... Did you know that the diatonic Western music scale comes from fractions ? Ice crystal! This was also the first time I'd ever seen Romanesco. I was super into learning about Mandelbroit and fractal, self-similar shapes in nature. My mind was totally blown. I couldn't stop looking at it. Lovely. I looked up and couldn't help but notice a similarity to the Metatron's Cube I made in string a few days prior . Later that afternoon, I listened to a binaural beat audio recording that is supposed to help you drop your awareness from your mind, down near your heart, the spot known as anahata . Later that evening, I got inspired with my recent purchase of a compass and decided to create a flower of life mural on my living room wall.
