a thing in 64 photos garden ...I decided to walk up to the terrace... ...and watch him do his bee-sy work. lol. Up on a nearby hill, I noticed a beekeeper tending to the apiary... Love me some plants I've never seen before! From the cathedral I walked over to the Botanical Gardens. Spent my evening hanging in La Plaza I love having my party in this garden. Such a great space to have in the neighborhood! Explorin! Garden looking pretty! Spent the afternoon in my fave garden. Roses & Beetles While walking Maddy, passed these three giving a concert in the garden. Nice to be home! Investigated the neighborhood gardens that were open... *rawr* ...sitting by the koi pond in the park on 5th & B... ...in bloom. So many interesting things... Spent Saturday morning exploring the community garden with Maddy. Took Maddy for her morning walk through the garden across the street... Check out the size of this tree's massive seed-pod, um, thingy! Orchid House. Crumpling a leaf I pulled off an All Spice tree to enjoy its wonderful fragrance (smells like cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves all in one). People in the neighborhood are starting to decorate trees in the community gardens with lights! ...in the La Plaza Cultural garden. The next morning my mom got us up bright and early so that she could take us on the day trip she'd planned. The trip included a visit to a botanical garden (her choice) and a trip to the local Navy SEAL museum (the bait she came up with to entice my father into coming along). Rudbeckia hirta! While I was sitting there, two guys showed up with upright basses and started playing together. They were both using bows and making haunting, mournful, beautiful sounds and a man wandered over holding his newborn son and was holding him up into the sound. All while reading a book about learning to let go and get lost in life moment to moment. Call it the reason I live here. I headed to the community garden across the street and found myself a quiet bench in the shade of the trees. ...are pallets of plants! NYC rooftop garden!
