New Years Recovery

On Monday afternoon, the few people who were still left got together for one last meal together. We asked a passerby to take one final photo...

...nine-and-a-half hour drive through the desolate and hauntingly lovely pine barrens of Florida! We made it back to my parents place a little before 1am and went right to sleep.

The next morning my mom got us up bright and early so that she could take us on the day trip she'd planned. The trip included a visit to a botanical garden (her choice) and a trip to the local Navy SEAL museum (the bait she came up with to entice my father into coming along).
