Later that afternoon I watched a bunch Buckminster Fuller videos about vector equilibrium.... Went home and spent the night playing music. Spent the evening adding some hot key licks to my songs in Garageband. Went into my messy home office... The state of my office bookshelves. After lots of interesting coin-tossing results, I decided to sit down and... Worked on this website in my messy office that's due for a cleaning. Spent some time at my little internet station... ...for a new office carpet! ...cleaning up my office and getting it ready... Spent Friday afternoon.... Spend a lazy Sunday... ...in my cozy home office... Spent sunday evening... Winter Tuesday. Did some photo editing on Thursday morning... Shaping up nicely! Monday evening my new office rug arrived! ...and then moved everything back in! Ta-da! New painted office! ...painted all the trim in there... Looks so much better than with the white walls! Thanks, Vin! After the paint dried, I mounted my two new wall hooks and hung out my guitar (and a borrowed bass from Matt). Two and a half hours later, we were finished! ...paint my office! ...and take all of my shelving (and stuff!) down.... ...move everything out of my office... Played some tunes on Sunday morning. Spent the rest of the afternoon playing guitar. Enjoyed catching up on my morning emails at my fancy new desk. Oooh-la-la! ...here's standing mode! Ta-da! Took a while, but I was really happy with the results. Here it is in desk mode. And... Spent the evening playing guitar. Ripped some sweet tunes. Played a bunch of guitar in the afternoon. Cluttered office. Recorded some guitar in the afternoon. Started off the month with some consulting work! Nobody likes digging into another person's big complicated spreadsheet like me! Trying to understand what numbers say is more fun to me than Netflix. (PS - sorry about my hobo-desk. I eventually gussy it up with some handsome contact-paper). Played a bunch of piano on Friday and then in the evening... After finishing work, I wrote some music! Computer looks extra clean on top of my filthy desk! Ta-da! Now with plant! On Saturday afternoon, I put a new plant hook in the ceiling near my office window. Spent a little bit of time trying to organize all the household and office papers I'd let pile up... Fired up my winter-blues-busting lightbox and... ...after! Ta-da! On Monday afternoon, the new carpets I ordered arrived. I got one for my home office. Before... Spent the evening cleaning up my apartment (which means taking all the stuff lying around everywhere and putting it up on shelves). Last day of having Grant in NYC for the summer! Straightened up my office on Thursday in anticipation of Grant coming to spend a week at my place. Straightened up my office on Saturday... ...and my lunch! Now I have somewhere to put my files... Including a nice portrait of Trungpa Rinpoche that Shambhala sent me as a gift. Came home and had a read and a snooze... New kitchen thingy. Same as the old kitchen thingy. Office wall boards. Later that afternoon, I busted out my NeuroSky BCI headset... Working lunch at the home office... After finishing up work for the day... On Friday morning, I opened the door to my office and was hit in the face by a wall of steam! The radiator valve had somehow gotten turned and the tiny room was like being inside of a cloud. On Friday morning I worked from home on the Yipit 4SQ project... Wednesday afternoon hangover-recovery veggie chicken sammich.... ...and then got my home office all nice and organized! Worked from home... I spent the afternoon taking Vin's awesome drawing and scanning it into my computer for my Temporary Tees idea. Thursday morning at the home office! Two planks cut and sanded, need to get another piece of wood to finish it up! Time to get the shelves! After work on Friday, I went to the Container Store and bought some shelving hardware for the home office project! I like the actual building part, it's all the prep work that I hate. New daybed got delivered first thing on Wednesday morning. Maddy was a big fan. By 2am, I'd managed to clear the office out! On Tuesday night, I worked on my home office! The plan was to get rid of these bookcases, replace them with wall-shelves and make room for a new daybed. This is what is what working from home looks like! Woooooo! We played around with white balance on our cameras... I got a new file box and finally started organizing my home office. Good times. I spent the day gorging myself on said holiday cookies and working on a new CSS template for this site! ...and moved it into my office with my other messes. I spent the rest of the evening working on entries for this website... Office.
