On Saturday morning, I met up with Arpan at 8am and we walked up to Flatiron right near where we work to attend...

...the first full day of the Shambhala Meditation Center's learn to meditate weekend. (Some of you may remember that I first went to a 10-day vipassana retreat up in Massachusetts in 2005 - if you're interested in meditation and live in or near NYC, Shambhala Center is a fantastic way to dip your toe into contemplative waters! I can't say enough great stuff about them!)

    As a long time fan of this site, I feel compelled to say that I'm sorry that you two went through a rough period, but I'm relieved that it was amicable and that you are both in happier places. I admit, though, that I can't resist the temptation to look for signs of the impending separation as I look at these new photographs. I hope that you don't find that dehumanizing; it's really opposite: just my attempt to get a better handle of what it means to be human. And for what it's worth, I also hope that the two of you continue to share a life together, even if only as friends.

      I echo that. It's weird (as always) to feel somewhat connected to someone who I don't know in real life. So while I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out perfectly from a romantic standpoint, it is very nice to hear you're still friends.
