The Making of Indoorvillage: Part Two

As construction intensifies, Barlow officially decides to become the fourth and final "Indoorvillager" and moves into the space, sharing a tent (gay!) with Dzija.

amy a — BONEHEAD MISTAKE #1: Amy measures a piece of plywood that will become the subflooring of the second level...

amy a — She makes the right cut but accidentally cuts her desk in the proceess.

BONEHEAD MISTAKE #2: In order to fit two levels inside, we needed to make the first floor ceiling's shorter than code...which meant we'd need to trim about 8" off of all of the pre-fab door we bought. I took my door off the hinges, measured it and cut it, only to realize that measure from the wrong side. So when I re-hung the door it looked like this.

Peekaboo!

I wish I'd been better about documenting the number of injuries we all sustained while building. I was ripping out a nail that gave way and the back of my arm caught on a sharp edge of a knot in the wood in the doorway I was standing in.

Good thing chicks think scabs are hot! (In case you didn't know, they also dig farmer's tans! I am tres sexy!)

The ceiling in our loft was covering layers of peeling paint that would constantly flake off and fall all over everything. We had no choice but to scape the entire motherfucking ceiling. By hand. Dzjia prepares to start on the ceiling in what will become his room.
