Strangers in the Night

My friend Doug and I went to Hoboken for the evening to visit Amy Albano, my former college roommate (and friend since middle school). We went to Amy's house and started drinking some beers and then Doug and I decided that we were going to walk down the street and get some take-out to eat before we headed out for the evening. On the way to pick up our food order, we randomly decided that we were going to start taking pictures of each other with strangers in the background. The object of the game was to see how far you could go to "obviously" get your picture taken with a stranger while at the same time pretending that you weren't doing it. The game caught on and we played all night (getting braver as we go drunker).

Stepping it up a notch, I stepped right in front of these unsuspecting people.

adam p, amy a, kara — At this point, we've gone back to the apt, eaten our food and told everybody else about "the game." On the way out to the bar, we managed to snag this group shot of us with more unsuspecting bench occupants.

karen landes — Karen Landis does not fuck around. She went right up to him and started chatting him up at the bar, he bought her a beer before she posed for this photo.

doug, me — This woman is the sister of the woman who owns the bar. For this photo, the plan was that I would distract her with conversation while Doug snapped our photo. She wanted to know why we were taking pictures so we explained our little game to her. She thought it was funny and suggested that...
