Good vibes backyard! Later that evening I met up with Vin and we went to an awesome outdoor BBQ party at Lauren Flax's new house in Bushwick. Had so much fun. We managed to get the entire gang together for a group photo before... Matt roasted a few dogs before we cleared the embers. No fires allowed, but a bunch of our clothes were still cold and damp from getting caught in the rain. So we built a really small fire to dry some stuff out before leaving. ...by finding a small amount of burnable wood above the treeline! ...and dried off in front of the fire. Excellent Fourth of July! Thanks for having me, Scott & Erika! Jeff started fire-twirling with sparklers... ...and all the kinds joined in. After fireworks, we graduated to s'mores. ...a wooded area with a decent-sized pond and campfire! Where I promptly sat to drink beers and watch the sunset. Grant's friend Carla had just moved to NY from Vancouver! After the performance, there was a nice afterparty complete with a bonfire in the backyard! While walking Maddy, I stopped to gawk at the charred remains of a 3-car fire that had happened on the block the previous night. The Volvo was on fire so severely that it managed to burn the back and front of the two cars parked nearest before the fire department got it under control. ...for some freshly-cooked Guatemalan food on their neato indoor oven.
