By 10pm almost all of the car headlights had died out and the street was getting dark. Long camera exposure. Door handles covered! ...I've never seen the East River this far west before. Haha. Wheels completely covered now. Three feet high and rising! ...I went back upstairs to watch the surreal show from my window. As the water slowly crept up, cars with low-clearance started flooding with water. This police van came by... ...to pick up all the cops who were stranded in their cruisers in the now-five-inch-deep water. The daring rescue was a success. All ankles were kept dry! Po-po beach cruiser and no waves. Had a windowsill visit from my dear friend, Mr. Moth. Police (very nosily) escorting a protest through our neighborhood. Wheatpasted all around the East Village. Walking Maddy later that evening, I spotted this new matte-black Lenco Bearcat parked in the NYPD garage on my block.
While out walking around, I spotted a weird flying object and filmed this video of it. (I submitted it to EVGrieve - there were Occupy Wall Street marches going on and the consensus is that I probably filmed an NYPD drone)
