The June Roundup

Here they are! All the pics from the month of June that didn't merritt their own entry, but still deserved a little love.

Monday, June 2nd

me, ric ocasek
Walking home from an uneventful Monday night out, I stopped by Bowery Ballroom (2 blocks from my house) to check out the roster list of upcoming shows. When I got there I realized that Ted Leo and the Pharmacists were playing that night! Not only were there tix available, Ted was going on in 15 minutes. I walked in, caught a rad show, and ran into Ric Ocasek on the way out! Holy shit, Just what I needed! (ba-dum-dum-CHA! Thank you. I'll be here all week! Try the meatloaf. And remember, please tip your waitress.)

Grant and I headed to Privelege (which is a strip club) for the release of Ian Spiegelman's first book, "Everyone's Burning." Here's Grant with Bess. (Who was so drunk that after 30 minutes of conversation she asks me: "So, where are you from?"

Me: "New Jersey."
Bess: "No, I mean originally."
Me: "Ummm, New Jersey."
Bess: "Well then where's your accent from?"
Me: "Ummmm. New Jersey?"
Bess: "Then why do you have a British accent?"
Me: "I don't."
Bess: "Yes, you do."

The subsequent argument that followed this exchange was way too incoherent to recount in full here - suffice it to say I ended up having to call on several "personal witnesses" to testify on my behalf that I was not, in fact, British.

Friday, June 13th

rachael
On Friday night birthday girl Rachael braved the pouring rain and came in from Hoboken with her boyfriend Grant and her roommate Jesse to meet up with Emily, Tara and myself at Pop.

Shortly after this pic was taken, we all tried to go to The Hole and after a disastrous misunderstanding at the door (don't ask), Grant, Rachael and Jesse decided to head back to NJ.
emily, me
We stayed at The Hole and had a few beers in Rachal's honor. (Check out my gratuitous armpit hair shot. Ew.)
me, tara
Tara, a girl that had a crush on Tara and more of my armpit hair.

tara
Hahaha. While it looks like Tara's embracing her, she's actually trying to grab her by the hair and pull her off.

After leaving The Hole we headed over to Max Fish where we ran into fellow RHS alumni Amanda Polk and her boyfriend.

Saturday, June 14th

priscilla
Saturday night I met up with Sarah and a buncha her friends and we went to someone's birthday party on 2nd ave. Up on the roof I ran into Priscilla!
sarah
And Sarah ran into...my balls.
So check it out, for a long time I've been planning on starting a new site: MyBallsAndYourFace.com. So in preperation, I've been trying to get, you guessed it, as many as people (preferably cute girls) to pose with my balls. When I get enough, I'll start the site. In the meantime, I'll post a few of the more choice cuts (like this one of some random cute girl getting "double-bagged") throughout the site. Joy!

Thursday, June 19th

dens
Thursday night was Dennis Crowley's 27th Birthday, so I stopped by Ludlow bar to bestow best wishes upon the birthday boy. (This pic was actually taken from his account of the evening).

Christ, was there anybody there that doesn't have a webpage? Hi, we're huge losers. From L to R: Jonathan "Little Brother of Dennis" Crowley (orangeride.com), Dens back there in the green (another gratuitous teendrama.com plug) and Randy (hifiny.com). I'm not sure who that guy is back there in the upper left, but I'll betcha dollars to doughnuts he's at least got a text-blog.

Afterwards I walked over to Sin-e' to visit the lovely Sarah who was DJing.

Monday, June 23rd

colin, me
I met up with Colin and his friend Jen at Pianos. And then we went to Nolita Tavern for some karaoke action. I love how both Colin and Fatty are always making faces behind their date's backs. Hahaha).
We sang some songs and Jen got really drunk. I mean, really, really drunk. Check out that expression! (Holy best pic ever, right?)
seth
We also ran into my friend Seth!

Ohhhh, man. I'm so not allowed to tell you about the rest of the night. (I want to type it sooooo bad. My fingers are trembling with the desire to spill forth the bestest story ever). But alas, I promised Colin (the artist formerly known as Big Daddy) that this story would stay under wraps until at least 2013. Check back then, please. Thank you.

Tuesday, June 24th

kristi, me
Out of the blue on Monday I got an email that my cousin Kristie was going to be in town on business (she works at an ad agency in Arizona(?). So we headed over to Fez to some, uh, what else? Karaoke! Here's me and Kristi
grant
Oh my god! Those are the same flip flops that Bowie wears when he sings this song!
Sarah's (aka - Sexual Bacon) mom was in town visiting from CA! (Girl on the left and girl laying down, I forgot your names. Sorry).

Thursday, June 26th

Man, Philly continues to completely blow. I had to go there for a business meeting and I missed my train back and ended up having to take the fucking bus. The bus was leaving right when I got there, and I hadn't eaten all day. I ended up having to grab a bus hot dog. Okay, I'm not going to lie to you - I love hot dogs. And the cheaper they are, the better they usually are, so I was sort of looking forward to it. (I thought movie hot dogs were as gross as you could go, but bus hot dog? Wow.)
So then I open up the little up the little styrofoam hot dog box and what do I find inside? Philly Bell Ketchup. Philly Bell? You gotta be fucking kidding me. Bus hot dog - completely ruined by grodey Philly Bell Ketchup. *blech*

On Monday, Grant signed a contract to, um...actually I'm not allowed to tell you about it. Sorry. (UPDATE: Well, now it's November 9th, 2008 and as I'm going back through these old entries, I can now safely tell you it was a contract for write a book that eventually became Working Stiff: The Misadventures of an Accidental Sexpert.
sarah b, sid and buddy
So we celebrated by going to, um, karaoke. Karaoke again? I know, I know. I should probably talk to someone about this, huh?
sid and buddy
But, I mean, they do have sparklers. Sparklers, yo. Happy June!
