a thing in 29 photos arcade ...for a few drinks and games. ...to meet up with the guys who had just arrived in town. Exploring the grounds I found this game room! Brings me back to the days of going to ski places in the Poconos with my parents in the 80s. I also found this pic from when we bought lived together on Mill Plain Road in Fairfield, CT and bought Arkanoid for the house. After marveling at the Sea Lions, we went to an museum of coin-operated arcade games! Playing Ms Pacman! 10 POINTS! Here's Dan Cowgill helping me show off how many tickets I'd just earned for my team! He found it's helpful to pretend that you're pooping! Ian tried it next. When the horse-racing game seems fun, you know that you've had too much to drink! Hafeez decided to try out the horse-racing game to win some tickets. After checking out, I had some time to kill before heading to the airport, so I went to the nearby mall and hit the arcade... ...so that I could play some gun video games (which I now realize are waaaaay less fun than a real gun range - who woulda thunk?). Then later that night I headed out to BK to meet up with Vin and his gal Aya to play some video games. And then we rounded out the day with a nice, easy game of golf. Hahah. Thanks for coming to visit, Brett! (Because regular bowling would've totally been too strenuous. Hahah). Afterwards, we hit the giant arcade downtown and played video bowling. ...that I couldn't not try it. We played skeeball, but not well enough to win a pair of handcuffs. Boo. How sweet is my electric-katana? Then we went to some enormous arcade! Then laughed like monkeys watching this super-serious guy play this samurai game where you have an electronic sword and you have to slash and thrust it in all these directions in order to kill the bad guys. It was so ridiculous... ...but eventually, even he, the videogame detractor, couldn't help but get caught up in the frenzy of excitement that is SILENT SCOPE 2. Grant was standoffish at first.... Further solidifying the "Essex is New Jersey" analogy, Leigh-on-Sea turned out to be the UK's answer to Wildwood. And we all know what that means... ....ARCADE TIME! (Look at Grant and Chris peeking out in the background. Hahaha).
