banana — The bananas were speckled like Maddy!

banana — Breakfast banana and a hound walk over to the East River.

banana — We managed to park and find the trailhead just after 11am. My knees were creaky after the drive so I ate a few bananas. Mmmm, bananas.

banana — ...every time she sees a banana peel on the sidewalk. Haha.

banana — Street was littered with bananas!

banana — By the time we got in, it was after 1am. Everyone was in bed and all the stores were closed - and we were STARVING! We split a banana...

banana — It sounds silly, but I really can't convey how surreal it is to have an animal that big gently take something out of your hand with it's nose.

banana — Here's her here little sniffer sniffing around for more bananas.

banana — So nice.

banana — Hahaha.

banana — I think this one is my fave because it looks like she's smiling.

banana — Look at me, I'm such a little trunk-toucher!

banana — Then it was my turn! Meredith took my cam and did an awesome job capturing the following action sequence!

banana — I totally broke my bunch of bananas in two because I wanted to experience the weirdness of feeling her sniff around my hand and then grab the bananas twice!

banana — ...then you chew then entire bunch at the same time...

banana — After we got back to the camp, our trainer asked us if we wanted to feed our elephant and thank her for the ride! When we said yes, he walker her around a little fence thingy - so that she would get over excited about the food and accidentally trample us to death..

banana — Thursday night was my birthday observed! Sarah and Karen were DJing a lot at the Annex and they managed to get the downstairs open a few hours early so we could have a little get together down there before it opened up to the public later that night! (Thanks, you two!)

Meredith handled the rest of the party planning which is how I ended up with a "Monkey-Themed" birthday. Complete with homemade banana-decorated cupcakes...

banana — And bananas! Hahaha.

banana — Every few hundred yards, we'd come to a new type of crop and they'd stop the tractor and the guy who was assisting on the tour would run off into a field and bring stuff back to show us...and sometimes model.
