Later that evening, Meredith and I took the train back to NYC and made it over to Sarah's apartment just in time to go up on the roof and catch the beginning of the fireworks!
Everybody needed a break from the buccaneer so we decided to buy some fireworks and shoot them off over the water at each other. Behold! The mighty Silver Crackling Ball!
We met back up with the group to find that Andy had gone firework shopping while we'd been gone. (Apparently he'd bought a whole bunch of Roman candles which we'd be using for a forthcoming fireworks fight.)
No sooner had the second set of 'works gone off when Grant was like "Dude! You HAVE to get a picture of me doing a David Lee Roth kick with the fireworks going off behind me! It'll look like STAGE PYROTECHNICS!" I was going to go downstairs to get my bigger camera, but Grant was worried that I'd miss all the fireworks. I was like "Well, we can use my small camera, but the batteries are shot and it's really hard to get the shutter to fire at exactly the right time. I'll give it my best shot."
When leaving Wal*Mart, Fatty was rooting around in his trunk and found an errant 'work in the back (for all of you that don't know Frank Picarazzi, "work" is short for firework). Anyway, they decided find a remote place to light it off.
After the "official" fireworks were over, some people down on the street below started setting off their fireworks which was awesome because they were exploding right above the building.
And I saved the best for last...check out the ghetto pyrotechnics! That's right, they took sparklers and scotch-taped them to the ceiling for the big "Wanted Dead or Alive" Bon Jovi hair-metal finale!
