Later that afternoon, I took Brett to a music store and bought him a guitar for Christmas! He'd been wanting to learn for a while. Learning that first Amaj chord!

Christmas 1987 - my brother and I freaking out about getting the long-awaited PHANTASY STAR for the Sega Master System. This was the first RPG I ever got into and it exploded both of our brains!

Brett and Amy's apartment was full with all sorts of new baby gear, so they'd asked for no presents, but my mom still insisted on getting Brett "a little something"...

Then it was time to head to the living room and open some presents! (It's a long-standing tradition in my house that we open presents that night before Christmas - it was a tradition born when my parents realized that this was a better alternative than my brother and I waking them up at 5am in order to unwrap our loot!).

My brother only had one present under the tree (from our mom) and it turned out to be a book on how to lose weight. He got all offended and started saying things like "Merry Christmas, Son...You're Fat!" In this pic he's just read the title and you can see his face starting to just turn sour.
